Let's start with the engine. Its 5.0 liter, 40-valve V10 puts out 500 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, and accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds. That's a lot of power, and it'll feel like more, because the '07 M6 has a trim curbweight of just 4398 pounds, thanks to a carbon-fiber roof.
The 2007 M6 is definitely one of the most style-conscious entries in the luxury sports car market segment. Cabin fittings show the attention to detail that Beemer drivers have come to love; high-tech ergonomic bucket seats make the ride as comfortable for the passenger as it is fun for the driver.
With an MSRP over $100,000, the '07 BMW M6 is going to stay in the realms of daydreams for most of us. But if you're able to afford this extravagant dream machine, enjoy!

It’s an awesome car but plagued with problems! Vanos pump, rod bearings, and a temperamental SMG gearbox. The 500 HP V10 although sweet to listen to is pretty gutless in the low RPM range, developing its max torque (383) at 7750rpm. This evident in the cars 0-60 time which is not “super car” fast @4.5 secs.
Handling is good and the car’s interior is excellent. Key is to find a well sorted out car before you go down the BMW money pit!Aug 30, 2022

This car is perhaps .010 % away to being the most impressive vehicle bmw ever made in my opinion. The company believed in the six series so much that they created a whole new branch of facilities, nearly doubling the size of the original manufacturing plant to create this line of cars. The M6 was the idea behind what “the ultimate driving machine “ was supposed to be. And it nearly was..but the 2005 thru 2010 vehicles were haunted by devastating engineering miscalculations that could cause catastrophic engine failures. And no recalls or class action demand for remedies ever fixed the issues. The push rod v10 is a masterpiece 500hp formula inspired beast of an engine. The manual transmission version of this car is simply so scarce, if you find one, buy it. Imo.. this is a Unicorn..and will be sought after..the smg version is as close to feeling like a three pedal, stick shift manual as I have ever driven. Unfortunately the smg version of this car fails at the transmission pump, vanos banks tend to fail, there are two and run more than 3g a piece for the parts alone, the smg pump is about 1.5g. If you are unlucky enough to experience these failures the repairs will run into the tens of thousands of dollars to get back on the road. Both transmissions have another problem, being attached to this V10 engine. By 80g miles if you fail to replace the push rod bearings, you run a very real chance of winning a lottery you dont want to win. The official numbers vary but anywhere from 5 to 10% of these engines will turn a worn rod bearing and catastrophic engine failure is the result. 100% of the cars that suffer this are unfixable without machining the block..if they are lucky..the rest of those cars are by all other accounts,Total Losses. And one more v10 M6 disappears..there are not many left..these cars are becoming extinct. If you buy one, put aside 3000 dollars over the purchase price, and replace the bearings immediately. Even if the previous owner did them. Take it from me. I spent 40 thousand dollars in repairs to my 07 M6. Before the service to the bearings was completed, due to a six month backstock wait. My car turned the #5 bearing, boring a .007 tolerance gap into a .027 putting it out of range to repair..these cars are for the ones that intend to spend the time and resources to make preventive repairs, the smg pump ,vanos ,and high pressure oil pump. At the very least need immediate attention upon new ownership. That is about 10g to put new components in..and is the only way to avoid one or all failures occurring to your car.
If you buy one, you truly have a special machine. If you want to keep it...budget the bearings into the purchase if you dont do anything else. Drive it carefully to your mechanic immediately upon taking the car into your possession..and eliminate the catastrophic consequences. This needs to be the first thing you do..and you will greatly increase the likelihood this will be the most amazing car you have ever driven. It is a supercar level machine that wont often disappoint the smart owner that stays ahead of these well documented and known built in time bombs.
Here’s something to consider, I bought a used one for 26g from a pal, was fully aware of the issues to fix immediately, and just missed successfully completion. $60+G spent all said...and I almost bought one just now...the car is that impressive.Nov 25, 2021

The M6 is a high performance sporty coupe or convertible. I think the car is very capable but it is also fraught with potential reliability items such as the variable valve timing system, the fragility of the water pump as well as the radiator that uses plastic tanks rather than being manufactured with all aluminum or brass for reliable longevity. There are not many 2+2 high performance coupes on the market. I think that if the owner is fastidious in maintenance in a proactive way, it can be reliable but it will cost a lot relative to the low purchase price it has. Caveat Emptor. Mar 23, 2020

I got this car almoust two years and drove it over 60.000 km. I got other cars that I'm using as an everiday car but I use the M6 also as an everiday car if the weather is fine.
The best thing about this car is that I can go to a race track (what I often do) and afterwards go directly in the city and cruze around with 3 friends in it! I love this car but I'm selling it now because I want to buy an white M6Sep 15, 2008

It took me about 2 months to finally get comforable enough in this "spacecraft" to start terrorizing the highways of NYC. Aside from being very attractive on the outside, under the hood packs a pretty good punch. The handling and braking are great. This car is nothin short of excellent. Apr 24, 2008

Very fun to drive this thing to drop off at another dealer. Me and the bodyshop manager raced up to like 120mph. He was a buncha cars ahead of me in a G35, i pulled him in a couple cars but i imagine the bimmer is quite heavy despite tons of power from its V10.
