2007 Hyundai Tiburon GT Hatchback FWDReview

Nice-looking Car But.... — The '07 and '08 Tiburon is a dinosaur. Yes, it looks pretty good from the outside, but inside is a different story. Even a person of average height and weight feels cramped in this car. The interior design is so-so, nothing special. The GT is close to 30 grand which is vastly overpriced when you consider you can buy a much faster and more roomy Dodge Charger with 18-inch wheels and rear-wheel drive for the same price as the Tiburon GT. The Tiburon GS still has a sorry 4-cylinder engine that is surpringly hard on gas. For $30,000 the Tiburon GT is a rip-off. Pros: appearance Cons: front-wheel drive, not much interior room, 16 inch wheels, hard on gas, overpriced |

Tibruon 2007 - Nice Design Reshape ! — the front is still pretty much the same as the previous generation design.. significant front and back lights improvements. add to that the fog front lights and the back lights are redesigned. the back looks pretty much a copy cocktail from Mazda RSX-8 and BMW M3. Pros: engine improvement, gear shifting, interior and exterior design Cons: Hyundai still lack inspiration and creativity as the model back is a mix cocktail copy of the BMW M3 and Mazda RSX-8 and the middle and front is still pretty much a re-integration of the Tiburon previous models. The interior had improved slightly from previous model ! .. still weak for a car make that claims going forward ! |

Gorgeous Body On Lousy Chassis With Bad Powertrain — Sexy to look at. Powertrain weak. huge rims cause a huge turning radius. Low seat position makes you feel like you're looking out a vision slit on a tank hatch. Huge blind spots. SLOWWWW Pros: Looks, warranty Cons: nice wrapper on old dried up model |

GuruXZDLC says:
Coming up from a 2004 Hyundai Sonata GLS, the Tiburon has better traction and over-all road handling. The seats are not the most comfortable but they do the job, they certainly arent uncomfortable. The technology is not the best for an 07 though Hyundai is known for being a little behind anyway. Power train is sort of an issue as mine screeches, though the mechanic says theres nothing wrong with it (hence my cars title being The banshee). The GT trim of this car has substantially larger issues which is why I opted for the GS, that and its cheaper. The car has a modest four cylinder engine however it is extremely light and so 134hp is plenty enough to have fun on the road. vs2004 Hyundai Sonata

vs2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS
2007 Hyundai Tiburon GS Hatchback FWD winning categories:
Handling
Ranked 2004 Hyundai Sonata worse.
"Its a sports car, it has a lower center of gravity and thus handles curves a lot better. Plus it is equipped with better tires (usually, if yours isnt, get better tires). "
Front Seats
Ranked 2004 Hyundai Sonata better.
"Front seats have reached god like status in terms of comfortability, not sure any other car could live up to it."
Back Seats
Ranked 2004 Hyundai Sonata better.
"Theres a lot more foot room in the back seats, plus the seats are far more comfortable."
Cargo Capacity
Ranked 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS worse.
"You can look up the dimensions of the cargo capacity for each car, the tiburon has a significantly larger trunk."
Family Car
Ranked 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS worse.
"More trunk space, though neither car is really a family car." |
