Worse Gas Mileage, Strange Whistling Noise, Rattly Driver's Door — I was told by even my Chevy mechanic that this new style Silverado was built solid, and I love the new look, but that's about all I can say good so far. I only have around 1300 miles now, but gas mileage is worse than the '06 Silverado I traded in, about 17.5 versus 20. I took a longer highway trip yesterday and averaged 15.9 pathetic mpg. I also have a strange high pitched whistling noise coming from somewhere, and was told it has to do with the accellerator? I've noticed a slight rattle or crackle in the drivers door, but it tends to come and go. Love the look inside and out but I personally find a couple of the gauges a little hard to see at times. It seems like the gas gauge could have been tilted in a little more towards the driver. Overall interior seems a little nicer than the '06, and the extra electronic features are neat. Overall, I would have looked at other trucks or stuck with my '06 had I known. Owner for 0 years, 1 months Miles Driven per Year:18,000 Pros: New styling inside and out, nice display options and electronics with right option packages Cons: Worse MPG, still questionable fit and finish, wierd noises as usual. How bad were the other trucks for this one to win "Truck of the Year"? ![]() Looking for a Used Silverado 1500 in your area?CarGurus has 85,544 nationwide Silverado 1500 listings starting at $1,995. |

Steering And Suspension Was Deplorable — On test drive there was a vibration between 45 to 55 MPH. Then we hit a little small broken pavement in the road and the truck jumps all over the place! Owner for 0 years, 1 months Miles Driven per Year:500 Pros: Truck sits low and is easy to get in and out of it, looks good. Cons: Gas mileage is a joke if not an out right lie. BAD MPG, BAD Ride. |

Overall A Good Truck, Looks Good, Strong Engine — Love the truck, except for 2 things, the interior noise that the dealership can't pinpoint, and they delay from V4 to V8 when you stomp on the gas pedal. Other than that the truck is great, looks alot better than the previos silverado. Owner for 0 years, 1 months Miles Driven per Year:12,000 |

Rides Nice, Wind Noise Horrible — I bought my truck and fell in love but then started to hear the wind in my ears. My drivers door always sounds like the windows is down. I took the truck in and they did some adjustments so they say. Now I have a whistling noise coming from the front of the truck so i'm not too happy Owner for 0 years, 2 months Miles Driven per Year:7,000 Pros: the way it drives Cons: windnoise |

Just Bought The V6 — Truck is very appealing visually. The exterior is great, I even like the silver birch metallic color, it matches my Harley. Driving the truck, which I purchased yesterday, is fun..traded an 05 Jeep Cherokee and forgot the pure fun of a pick up..some basic instinct finds it appealing. I got the W/T w/V6..engine has adequate power for my needs and the package came with Cruise control, tilt steering, dual A/C and auto headlights for under 19,000..hard to beat the deal. the truck drives nice so far, haven't owned a Chevy in years but look forward to this..the dealer gave me a good deal on the Cherokee, which I was seriously upside down in. Anyway, I only have 180 miles on the truck but all is well so far..the interior is a little plain but, after all, it is a work truck. Fit and finish on the exterior is good quality, however, some of the materials used on the interior (plastic knobs) feel like Chevy could have done better. Clear — I chose this truck when I was living in the country used for hauling small items to town. It handled better on icy roads then a car would. The truck has a sleek look to it I added running boards and Deer Guard due to the area I was Living in had a lot of Deer.Very comfortable rides and drives like a car. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Has been very dependable low maintence Cons: Gas mileage isn't as good as my small car was. |

Sharp Looking Truck.... — It has a sporty look and feel to it... it is dependable ... gas mileage is average for a truck... added a 2 inch drop to the rear end... to level the ride...also added airbags on the rear for handling and cargo weight without compromising looks or handling ... added borla dual exhaust for sound and looks... Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Very clean ... dependable....sharp looking truck Cons: There is a few sctraches on the body due to its age ... but overall a clean good looking truck... |

This May Be My Next Car(again). — The Silverado is perfect for hauling all of my tools, it has the power I need to tow a trailer. It's quiet and I would rather drive it than my wifes' Honda Odyssey. I have taken many long road trips in it and it drives like a luxury car with room for cargo. The roll-up soft bed cover is really nice to keep the weather out of the bed and it attaches easily. It's also sharp looking. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: This Chevy Silverado was the first pick-up truck that I have ever owned. I have owned some luxury cars in the past , but this truck is probably my favorite vehicle that I have ever owned. It not only has power and performance, it is very comfortable on long trips. I have maintained it well and haven't had any maintenance issues. It hauls and tows well and has room to pick up the kids from school. Cons: The gas mileage is about 16 M.P.G on the highway, but it is a full-sized truck. |
