Barely Filled It Up — Sold it because im waiting for the one with bigger horsepower, slow acceleration, but overall the car was mint.. sold it for more then i paid was a great first car, wished i never sold it to tell you the truth.. no problems ever occurred except for a wheel bearing which had to be replaced due to the rims, nothing more

Pros: Great on gas no complaints

Cons: Slow acceleration

Very Fuel Efficient And Solid, Torquey, Great Suspension, Slowww. — This car got 40 miles per gallon combined city-highway on a bad day. On a good day it got 45 mpg. It was awesome and fun to drive, it loved curves in the road. I put 40,000 miles on mine and traded it for an Audi A3. It's too bad the current TDI only has 105 HP...

Pros: GREAT mileage, fun, relatively good looking

Cons: Slow, somewhat not smooth 5-speed manual, headlights ugly

For What It Is, Its A Pretty Sweet Car. — VW Jettas were never meant to be race cars, so i guess it shouldn't really be reviewed like one. However, it does give you a pretty good sense of performance, particularly when you first drive it. The main thing you notice when driving the car is that you barely feel speed. You can literally be doing 90 mph and feel like you are doing 55. Acceleration is by no means blistering, but it is relatively quick and won't get you into any hairy situations trying to merge into traffic. The car is very comfortable for a tiny vehicle, and while the suspension is stiff enough to keep the car from rolling through turns, it is not so bad that your back hurts after a drive to school. Overall I think this is a great car.

Pros: Good acceleration, nice feeling at high speeds, decent fuel economy, very safe in an accident

Cons: The VW dealerships are ridiculous as far as service goes

I Love It! — I'm a sucker for the VW, but this would have to be my favourite so far. I love the economy of the diesel. I generally fill up once every 4 - 6 weeks.

Pros: It can go fast, but I still drive it like a granny!

Cons: Turbo lag

A Beauty To Drive And Own. — Fast, drives very good. Computer chip changes the gear very fast. I got the car with 18K original miles and not it has little over 41K miles. All service done at Hillside Imports. It's where the car was originally done at. It also has an ipod dock as well.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I love the car. Real head turner, to be honest.

Cons: Really no cons on this car.

Great Car — this car is great.Rides very comfy. The only thing that is a dislike is the vibration as you engage and disengage the clutch. I have just installed a set of michelin x ice snow tires!!!! this car is really quite fun to drive and handles very good. The coolest thing is when you turn your lights on at night the display is great!!!!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: quality and fuel

Cons: nothing

Great German Engineering At An Affordable Price. — I bought the car new in May 2006. I now have 185,000 kms on it and I have not had a single repair other that routine maintenance. I have replaced a few bulbs, the serpentine belt at 150,000 kms and rear brakes at 95,000 kms. The front brakes are still original and have 1/4" of pad left. The car is still as tight as the day I drove it off the dealer lot. I would not change one thing on this car. I get an average 1,000 kms per tank (55 litre). The original Bridgestone tires lasted 92,000 kms and I switched to Nokian WRG2 that now have 93,000 kms. They are due for replacement this fall. These are winter tires that you drive all year long so I don't have to have a second set. This is by far the best car I have ever owned and I am planning to keep it as long as I can. The VW mechanics all say that it is now just "broken-in" and I believe them.

Pros: Tight as a drum at 185,000 kms, excellent handling, reliable, comfortable, economical and safe.

Cons: Nothing
