G6 — This is a great car and very reliable, seats are comfortable and supportive. This car has plenty of power and has no problems merging onto the high way. The cargo space is great for a coupe and the handling is wonderful. This car is a much better deal than a camaro or mustang and does much better in the winter.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Not fast but plenty of power, Smooth ride and great handling. Trunk is huge for a coupe

Cons: Back seat is tight.

Great Reliable Car With Some Maintenance That Is Difficult. — The Pontiac G6 has been a good car over all. I do most of the mechanical work myself saving thousands from dealer cost. The Pontiac has a governor. I was only able to get it up to 105 before it started to slow it down.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great mileage for the G6, always starts, has been very dependable.

Cons: Several recalls, dealership does not offer loaner for recalls. Wiper Transmission bushing broke and dealership does not just sale the bushings have to buy the whole wiper transmission. I just bought a bushing set and made one fit.

A Fine Little Car. — The G6 GT makes a good commuter car. Mine has been very reliable with decent gas mileage and it's fun to drive. The power steering had intermittent issues, it would quit working, from about 100,000 miles that got worse aroung 150,000 miles. Fortunately GM replaced the steering column under waraanty at 150,000 and everything is workinig good again.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Lots of head room.

My G6 Will Live On In My Memory As A Great Coupe. — I like the sports handling and the power that it had. I did not like the complaining I got from rear seat passengers that were taller than 5 feet tall. I did not like replacing the rotors. I especially like the manumatic shifting option.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: This car has gotten me everywhere I wanted to go. Enough power to get out of jams, and enough fuel efficiency to help the bank account.

Cons: Pontiac is out of business. Leather is cold in Oregon.

The Best Value On The Market At The Price Point. — The combination of gas mileage and reliability coupled with an outstanding price point makes the 2006 Pontiac G6 a wonderful value. Its reliability (MSN.com/autos) is very high, and the maintenance is very low. Parts are still very easy to get through any Chevrolet or GMC dealership and they're pretty easy to fix. All in all, its the perfect car for a frugal budget!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: 34 MPG!

Cons: The back seat is a little smallish, but is expected for a compact car

Very Good Car. Easy To Drive And Fun. — Very fun and good car to drive all in all. I could ask for a better sound system because it doesnt sound the best but you could replace it yourself. The traction control button allows for some "fun" driving. Its one of the only FWD cars ive done an acctual burnout in

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It gets good gas millage and is fun to drive. Perfect for a teenager just starting to learn to drive. As long as they can control themselves with the slapshift and 201 hp and optional traction control

Cons: Could have more hp for a 3.5 V6 and a better audio system as an option

Discontinued Pontiac G6 — Got this car to commute to and from work. It is a sedan so it was very useful as a family vehicle as well. It seats 2 car seats in the back comfortably with latches and has surprisingly large trunk space.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great on Gas, Great commute vehicle.

Cons: not much power

Stylish, Sporty & Fun — This is an excellent car! It drives great and gets decent fuel economy. It's sporty, handles great, has great seats (both front & rear). It is also very well made - no shakes or rattles. This is a very reliable vehicle and has never let me down. I love this car!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Terrific styling. Handles great. It is sporty and gets very good fuel economy.

Cons: Trunk opening is a little small (although the size is good & there is a pass-through into back seats)
