Great All Around Pickup - Needs Work To Be A Serious 4x4 — I have owned the Honda Ridgeline (2006) for a little over a year. For everything but serious off-roading, this is a terrific vehicle. Great on the highway, around town, etc. Can't find a single fault with it -- decent mileage, decent pickup, great handling, etc. Only fault I can see is that the off road capabilities are a bit limited, and the ability to upgrade the vehicle through aftermarket items is a bit constrained. I like to drive my 4x4s on the beach, and I have gotten stuck in the ridgeline. Part of the issue is that I have the running boards (which reduces clearance) and that I drive in very soft "sugar sand" which is difficult for most vehicles. I have just purchased a 2" lift kit from Truxxx, which I hope will provide me with the clearance I need. Unfortunately, I cannot get the large size tires I want because of clearance issues with the fender.

Honda Builds A Car That Looks Like A Truck, This Is Not A Bad Thing. — Pros - Honda reliability, lots of room, great storage, good for medium weight towing, AWD, unconventional looks. Cons - Drivers leg room, steering wheel angle, fuel mileage, transmission downshifts to often. Equals - Honda builds a truck with Honda quality and engineering & Style = Vanilla

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Honda reliability, lots of room, great storage, good for medium weight towing.
I witnessed my Ridgeline climbing a primitive rock road in abandon strip mine, Impressive!

Cons: drivers leg room, steering wheel angle, fuel mileage

Nice features, inside and cargo storage. Good road ride, very car like. Seats are good, drive train is very good. Plastic body panels are a little fragile, and expensive to replace. At 160K miles required extensive front end/brake maintenance.
Power Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB better.
"Tundra is a V8 vs Honda V6. Lots more torque in the Tundra.."
Handling Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB better.
"Both handle well, but in rough road conditions the Tundra always felt more stable/substantial."
    Looks/Style Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB worse.
"Really a better vehicle for 4 persons than the Tundra. More room to carry passengers and their stuff than what is available in the Tundra"
Front Seats Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB worse.
"They are individual seats with very good support. The Tundra seat while still in good shape after 250K are just not as comfortable, or as supportive and adjustable."
Back Seats Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB worse.
"Full size seats vs seats for smaller beings that you may not necessarily like a lot."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB worse.
"The Honda has a cargo area that is under the truck bed. It is well sealed, lockable, and holds an amazing amount of gear. The tailgate of the Honda also swings sideways to allow easier reach into the truck bed or will fold flat for access. an ice feature."
Family Car Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB worse.
    "It seats 4. In comfort."
Value Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB better.
"It comes down to miles and condition. Though the Tundra is a more dated design, and the Honda design has not changed very much."
Would Buy Ranked 2000 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 V8 4WD Extended Cab SB better.
"For older vehicles it comes down to miles driven and condition. Mechanically the Tundra is in better shape at @ 250K than the Ridgeline at 160K. based on the gravel and dirt roads that I routinely drive on."
