2006 Honda CR-V EX AWDReview

Roomy Inside, Yet Small And Maneuvable On The Outside, Great Daily Driver — One of the best "sport-utes" out there. It's based on the Civic platform so it drives like a small car. However, it's about 10 cu feet shy of most midsized SUVs. I like the looks of the 2nd gen CRV with it's sporty jeep-like look with spare tire on the back. I'm not a big fan of the looks of the 3rd gen "crossover" looking CRV. Between traction control, awd, and it's small size it's the perfect car for snowy, sleety roads and to me handles better than larger SUVs. My only complaint is that I wish it had a 6cyl since the 4cyl puts out only 150 horses

Pros: Snow handing, sporty looks cargo capacity.

Cons: 4 cyl engine is anemic.

Best. Car. Ever. — Reliable, safe, substantial, comfortable. Not the most peppy car, but considering it's a 4-cylinder, it does pretty well. Never had any problems with it. All the safety features I wanted (traction/stability control, ABS, EBD, AWD, side airbags).

Pros: Spacious, versatile, handles great in bad weather, comfortable for short and long trips, super reliable.

Cons: Gas tank too small, windshield wipers don't have enough speeds, mileage could be better.

An Suv That Handles Like A Coupe. — I decided to go with the EX model - it still has plenty of bells and whistles: Power windows, power door locks, anti-lock 4 disc brakes, etc...etc... Best handling I've experienced in an SUV to date. Stylish and rugged, this SUV can take you just about anywhere.

Pros: handling, all-time 4WD, plenty of cargo space and leg room.

Cons: acceleration is disappointing.

2006 Honda Cr-v — This is more the wifes car then mine. But I do get a chance to drive it once in a while. This is the base model EX without four wheel drive. It gets around well in the snow very well. Like Hondas base models come very well equipped, with cruise control, AC, VSA. Get this is even has a table in the back just incase you need to play Texas Holdem while on the road :)

Fun Car! — My mother just bought one of these. I admit; I was trying to steer her towards the Toyota Rav-4. However, she didn't like the pushy salesman there, and went with the CRV instead. The car is very sharp. It has clean lines and is pretty to look at. Of course, I wouldn't know much about the acceleration, as my mom drives like, well, my mom. =) However, it does seem to have great control. Of course, everybody's favorite feature is the floor of the trunk which doubles as a picnic table. Too cute!

Peppy Lil Guy — Took a test drive and liked the drive. Coming from a V8 so this is will be an adjustment. Has good acceleration, picked up well.Found an 06 with only 65,000 miles. Purchasing now so will update later as I get more comfortable with it .

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Cute, compact

Cons: None yet

I absolutely loved my 2006 CRV, I do not like the new body style and as I am ending my 3 year lease with the 2014 CRV I have decided I am going to hold out until I find a 2006 that is a great deal with lower miles
