How I Grew To Love My Odyssey. — I was dragged from a 5 speed SAAB Wagon when I couldn't get the 3 car seats buckles across the backseat anymore. At first I hated the minivan. I couldn't hear what my kids wqere saying. I couldn't reach the seat when they dropped soemthing. I couldn't reach a knee to soothe someone. But then I took one of the middle seats out and made it a living o=room. We sat ont he floor and had picnis - watched movies and ate popcorn. We stretched out and used it as a room - a room on wheels. Once I cuaght on to how to use this car as a holding zone then my attitiude towards it got better. For a living room, the ride quality is absolutely amazing. For a multi-media room the mileage is just fine about 19-20 mpg. Braking is solid. Build quality is better than most. Doesn't feel like my SAAB - but SAABs now don't feel like my SAAB. The Odyssey is far and away the best designed mini-van. So for what it is, I absolutely love it. Would I rather be driving a 5 speed anything - you bet - but that won't be for awhile.

Pros: THe best handling living room anyone could possibly design

Cons: The winshield whistles despite several repairs including 2 new windshields.

My Van — Perfect family Van, Doesnt look stupid to drive. Great for one of those I will never drive a mini-van person. One of the best fuel efficient van out there. The safest van around. the DVD system is a perfect addition to keep the kids quiet. Go and Buy one the 2008's are even better

Pros: Nice loking, comfortable

Cons: None

Mom Mobile — I said I'd NEVER get a mini-van. That is until I saw how much room kids, their car seats and their crap takes up. You need the space with kids, you just do.

Pros: It hauls everything you need--strollers, car seats, etc.

Cons: It's a mini-van.

We Love Our Odyssey! — This is our third Odyssey. First '99 had transmission problems. Second was OK, but the 2005 has more power and better mileage and a better overall design---a great combination.

Pros: Great power and handling (for a minivan)

Cons: Design details around doors is lacking and some of the plastics in interior mar easily.

Practical Family Truckster With Style — The 2005 Honda Odyssey is a great family car. With 2 kids and a dog, the extra space is much needed over a sedan or SUV. The power doors are an amazing convenience. Seats slide and remove with ease. The full stow-away seats in the back make hauling the various kids paraphernalia or occasional large appliance a breeze. Reliability has been what you'd expect from Honda.

Pros: Cargo space, comfort, handling, power

Cons: Wish it were quieter

Great Mini-van — Lots of space, Sto n' Go, Great powerful engine with the VCM. The vehicle stability assist (VSA) is well done.

Pros: VSA, VCM, ABS

Cons: None that I can think of right now.

So Far So Good Until I Am Told The Problem With The Struts — I have the car for 3 years and 4 month. It had some minor problem before. Overall I like the car until yesterday when I ask one of our mechanic friend to rotate the tires(they are original tires, and this is 1st time I have them rotated-Honda would not do it for free) and he told me that both back wheels' struts have oil leak and it looks like the leaking has been there for a while. I had my service done in the local Honda dealers, none of them told me that. To me it is very odd for a car this new to have struts broken.

Loved This Vehicle And Would Have Kept It — Loved the handling and drive of this vehicle. Would have traded it for another HONDA ODYSSEY if it had not been for the fact that we were in the market for a travel trailer which needed a larger vehicle to tow it

Pros: Excellent resale value we were paid extra dollars by the dealer to bring this vehicle in.

Cons: none

2nd Odyssey, Regret Getting Touring Package Due To Pax Tires. — This is our 2nd Odyssey. Our first was close to perfect as humanly imaginable. We wanted to upgrade and got the Touring package...big mistake. The EX-L is THE bst buy here as the PAX tire option is nothing less than a nightmare. I am on my SECOND set @ 23K miles (yes, SECOND set) and will be ready for a new set VERY, VERY soon. I have my car in at the dealer every other month for service to assure that the vehicle is in perfect shape and my alignment is spot on...these tires will give you 15-18K miles, that is it. They are heavy, the dealer does not have them in stock and in a nutchell, are ridiculously expensive. From there on out, Honda has done a wonderful job and the new '08's are even better. I think we are going to trade in the '05 Touring and get an '08 EX-L and walk away from the PAX tires....or maybe wait for the diesel in 2010. Who knows????

Pros: Excellent mechanicals, great ride, excellent interior layout

Cons: PAX tires!!!!!!!!!!!!  ...simply avoid them.
