Good Basic Car — The Cruiser is a good basic car which I routinely get serviced, and has not needed repair in the 5 years I've owned it. My next car will need better gas mileage and acceleration on hills, and less road noise. I picked it for price, styling, and the roomy comfortable interior. Yes, it's fun to drive, and I get a lot of compliments on the style. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Reliability Cons: Chrysler no longer making them. ![]() Looking for a Used PT Cruiser in your area?CarGurus has 513 nationwide PT Cruiser listings starting at $2,275. |

Ok, But Would Not Buy Another One. — Quick car, but it weighs a ton and gets terrible gas mileage. Best buy for a convertible. Doesn't handle well, too short and heavy. Since it's a convertible it is a rattle trap. I have replaced all the suspension components and it's still rattly. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: It's a convertible! Cons: It's a Chrysler :( |

2005 Pt Cruiser Signature Series — I bought my 2005 PT Cruiser Signature Series when I worked at a Chrysler dealer in Florida. They are a great car to drive and very reliable. I was totally sold at a Chrysler ride and drive event held for Chrysler sales people when we were passengers in base PT Cruisers driver by professional Indy Car Driver doing figure 8's around light posts in Universal's parking lot. The car handled extremly well when pushed to the limit. I have the 150hp 2.4 L engine with a 4 speed automatic and it quite peppy off the line. I now own the vehicle over 5 years now and it is still as solid build wise as when i bought it. The interior is so spacious I even fit a commerical gas BBQ in it. You can put a lot of stuff in this litlle car. The Signature Series is a limited run of vehicles usually built the first 3 weeks of November and are specially equipped with some cool options at no charge. In 2005 options for the Signature Series PT included Nav, Leather, Sunroof, Chrome clad wheels, Chrome package and Sirius Radio. I do have 1 small negative the gas mileage for a 4 cylinder vehicle is less than impressive. aintenance has average. I had 2 oxygen sensors blow out and the fan motor needed to be replacesd it was not cooling the car properly. As for the Fun factor the PT is 100% fun. When I worked at Chrysler I loved the PT GT Turbo, talk about a torquey little car, just pop the clutch on that sucker and it would push you back in the seat. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: 100 % fun with great utility Cons: could be better on gas. |

I Would Recommened This To Anyone Who Wants A Great Economic Car. — You look like a mini-gangster in it when the car's color is black. It looks sinister! It looks really cool when the windows are tinted dark. The car also rides nice for a small car. The car also handles nice for a small eco-box. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: It has a distinctive look. Cons: Low-end acceleration is a little weak. |

Fun Car — Fun to drive. I wish the gas milage was a little better. 15-17 in town, 21-23 on the hwy. I had that kind of milage with my Xterra, was hoping to improve a bit. Convertible is fun though! Occassional Chryler electrical gremlin decides the car won't start. May start next time you try, may start ina few hours, depends on its modd. Thankfully it only does this around Thanksgiving, then all is well again. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: convertible! Cons: gas milage is not what I hoped for. Chrysler's electrical gremlims too. |

Pt — doing really care for it, not a race car! good braking time tho. for an everyday car it ok but not for racing or extended driveing(other than round town) pretty good gas mileage. not my kind of car! DONT buy if wanting a strong car either! Pros: drives like a go cart Cons: Build bad |

Cruises Like A Dream — I love the ride of this Cruiser. It cruises like a dream. For a 4-cylinder it has great pick up and go. It gets 25-30 mpg. It's a lot of fun to drive. It already needed a head gasket change at $24,000 and new control arm bushings at $34,000. This car really is a comfortable ride. I took it to NC and the kids never complained about being cramped in the back seat. I love it so much I rented on when I went to TX in April 08. Pros: fun, comfortable ride. Cons: has had to have work a few times. |

Great Ride — Overall, a decent car. I haven't had any major repair issues (knock on wood), and it's fun to drive. The interior is hard and plasticky, but at least it's interesting. I'd suggest opting for the five-speed manual or springing for the turbo motor. It's a very comfortable ride, and I'm pretty happy with it. Pros: Funky styling, utility, price Cons: Slushbox tranny, slow, could be better on gas |

Fun To Drive — hate the gas mileage get about 19 kilometers to a litre. At the price of fuel not a very good fuel effient car to have. I love the apperance and the car is very comfortable. The car has a ghost the lights go off and on the horn blows. The door locks go irratically while sitting. Took the car to Chrysler to have it fixed 7 times and they say and I quote there is nothing physically wrong with your car maybe you should call a priest. The employees I work with many of times came and got me to tell me my lights are going off and the the locks are opening irratically and all 4 windows went up and down for 10 minutes. The mechanics think I am nuts but why would I bring a car in to have it fixed and pay for the repairs with my money if there is nothing wrong? I just live with the ghost I call her penelopy cruiser Pros: LOVE THE LOOKS Cons: ELECTRICAL NIGHTMARE |
