Overall Fun Car To Drive And Capable Of Alot Of Hp If You Have The $$ — This car is Good on gas if you can keep it out of the boost. The stock handling and brakeing were great but i found myself wanting more so i upgraded. The car is a little sluggish off the line but it gets up their. The cars fit and finish is supurb compared to asian and american cars in its class. Its almost 7 years old with 85,000 on the clock . The only repairs it has needed was from my own negligence other than coil packs (they were recalled) The look of the car is simple yet very classy .nothing overly dramatic with random body lines Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Pimpin Cons: sluggish |

Great Family Car And Will Be Good For Work When The Girls Don't Need The Buggy. — 54 plate 2.0 ltr tdi, absolutely great car, full leather interior quite nippy for a diesel, and not bad economically. stone henge grey (strange but true), spacious boot (needed for the double buggy) and loads of room for the 2 car seats. Best car i've had Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: fun and practical Cons: if your single and work in a office |

Love It And Always Will — 4Motion awd is great, have passed all the 4x4's in the snow. Super comfortable to drive, The turbo engine is spectacular, peppy and great on gas! Had to replace the water pump at 90,000Kms, they shouldn't use plastic parts, but otherwise have given me no problems! Would buy again! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Everything.. Cons: Plastic water pump! |

Maybe Last Models Are Better — Great to drive alone, in traffic or highway. Its a lot of fun to drive this 1.8 T, very powerful most of the fun comes from the turbo. It comes with Tiptronic and a great sound system (better than my Pilot). Very hard suspension, and it loves the VW mechanics so much that it got towed twice and had to change a few parts, thank God its still under the warranty. Speaking of, to keep the engine warranty they force you to have Syntethic Oil only. It lasts longer but it cost almost $100 versus $25 for my Honda. I don't know why i still like VW's. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Speed, torque Cons: Breaks easly, maintenance very expensive |

Great Autobahn Cruiser And Occasional Backroad Carver If You Know A Mechanic Or Do The Work Yourself — Superb gas mileage, manual transmission is a joy to swap cogs with, precise (if somewhat numb and slightly heavy) steering, exceptionally dampened ride without feeling at all float, though it does roll a bit in more aggressive maneuvers. Acceleration from 2500rpm onwards is very good; with close to 200hp, though, the limitations of FWD become quite apparent under hard acceleration . Quiet around town, with some road and wind noise at speed. Maintenance is quite expensive. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Effortless (if not dramatic) acceleration, roomy. Cons: Maintenance/repairs come hard and fast |

Overal Result Is Good — faster than i thought it would be. i love the passat, an example of performance and saloon car put together to creat one great car for a tdi. very fun to drive and you can chuck it into the corners Pros: performance Cons: nothing much to avoid |

2004 Passat 4motion 1.8t Wagon — Great versatility, acceptable fuel mileage while providing space and AWD. Turbo four plus five speed manual is peppy enough to be enjoyable, but this wagon won't win any stoplight races. Vault-like, every-surface-is-pleasing interior build quality impresses. So far (30,000 miles driven) quite reliable. Only a few complaints: always locked setting on tailgate is quite frustrating, parts prices are high but come with the euro territory. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: AWD, interior build quality, compromise between performance and economy Cons: parts prices, always-locked tailgate |

Good All Round Family Car — Acceleration preety good as its got a turbo, build quality is good as its a vw, appearence is ok, getting a bit old now that its an 2004 though. Very good on fuel as its a diesel. Dunno how fun it is to drive. Overall 4/5 stars ! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Turbo Cons: None |

Passat Wagon Pleases And Surprises — Great solid driver. I needed a little bit more room than my A4 allowed and saw the wagon. 1.8T vs the v6. I wish I had a bit more power, but works well for commuting and the occasional cruise! Mid 20's mileage for mixed driving - only passed 30mpg on a trip to Colorado. The feel of the drive is solid all around and I never get bored of the great sound system. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Solidly built Cons: May be finicky if you don't maintain it well |
