Rx-8 — For a non-conventional, non-piston type motor, it has superb performance and handles like higher end sports cars, but it is build to save you money and still have fun. Downside is I had "total engine failure" at 36,xxx miles, but they replaced everything without much hassle. Very sharp car and I always get compliments just about everywhere I go. I have to say that being a fan of the rotory motor is a plus because many people will still compare this car to anything with cylinders or pistons. This simply is unlike anything else out there and is a car all on its own. Much better than the MX-5 Miata, and sounds great too. Just wish it had turbos to keep the lineage going.

Fun To Drive, Needs A Turbo — Fun car, do0r setup is cool. Lacks some power and HATES Kentucky winters. Handles amazingly.

Pros: Gets a lot of lo0ks, fun to drive.

Cons: Lacks torque and some power.  Doesnt like ice/snow at all.

Cant Wipe The Grin Of Your Face. — I was fortunate to be involved as a driver for the release of this vehicle in Queensland. I was asked back to do other work with the car on most of the major tracks in Australia. This car rewards finsse and smoothness, communicating with you on a level than nothing else can for the money. And the soundtrack...!

Pros: Sublime handling and balance. The rotary smoothness and its aural thrill. The practicality with those doors and its packaging? What more could you ask for!

Cons: Likes a drink and the sparkplugs cost a bundle. Some mechanics afraid to touch rotaries could spell for big $ specialist work. The Bose speakers are nowhere near as good as in the MPS series.

Looks Great, But Such A Bad Idea... — "Meh" performance (from the higher power version!), horrendous fuel consumption, and the requirement to fill up the oil after every second tank of fuel, along with the fact that it's *really difficult* to fill up the oil, makes this one of the dumbest cars on the road, despite being gorgeous.

Pros: Looks lovely!

Cons: Rear seats are useless, fuel consumption is worse than a 5.7 litre V8 Corvette, oil use is terrible, and it isn't that quick! Rubbish!

Pros: beautiful, fun to drive, good bose sound system, navigation

Cons: bad on gas and oil.  only 4-speed. low on power

Love It — gear box and clutch takes a little getting used to but feels so good when you do. only downer is that it sounds quiet for a "sports car"

Pros: the feel good factor

Cons: petrol 17 mpg!!!

Efficient Sports Car--zoom Zoom! — Amazing engine; smooth revs and spins free. Weak torque made up for by high power in higher revs and amazing handling ability. The car stays planted but the back end is easy to control when you want it to spin around on you. Amazing interior... everything is ergonomic and all audio and climate controls are naturally placed and don't get in the way of driving. Lot of luxury feel for a sports car inside. But the feel of the car is still unbelievable sporty, driving position, seats, steering feel, etc. all lead you to sport. Innovate suicide doors allow you to carry up to three friends for a nice ride... back seats are full buckets and also comfortable with a decent amount of room! This is a driver's car through and through.

Pros: Engine, interior, ergonomics, drivability.

Cons: Rotary is thirsty for oil and gas.

The Only Place You Get Less Than You Might Expect Is Under The Bonnet. — Looks good, sounds even better, well equipped, goes like stink, cheap(ish), very comfortable, practical, great engine that feels like it runs on double cream.

Pros: Wankel engine (228bhp), bloody quick.

Cons: Wankel engine (20mpg,if your lucky), bloody quick.

The Ultimate Enthusiasts Car. — The RX-8 certainly has it's quirks, and it isn't the most economical choice with today's energy prices. However, if you can live with the faults, you'd be hard pressed to find a vehicle that better connects with it's driver. Not to mention the joy of explaining the unique rotary engine.

Pros: Handling, braking, revability, unique motor & styling

Cons: Gas mileage, build quality
