Great Handling Wagon! — It was a spacious wagon that handled exceptionally well. The 2.0 I4 left a lot to be desired. The car could've used another 50 hp. Body control was great and the tires were the only limiting factor. Road noise was also horrible, but the stereo was great. The shift feel was excellent. Great car that is for everyone! Pros: Great looks. Great handling. Lots of room. Sunroof and leather! Good shift feel. Cons: Needs more power |

Peppy, Grippy, Practical And Good-looking — It was between this car, a Honda Civic-R and a modded Ford Focus and this one won out. It's a really nice car to drive, well-rounded and a good looker. The sport wagon was appealing for space and the engine was a 2-litre (I think?) which had good acceleration. It felt very solid and it resold very well. Pros: Solid build, fun, good looking Cons: Yellow was a bit hard to sell |

You've Just Been Passed By A Wagon! — Current Mods: Injen Cold Air Intake|OBX Headers|ProtegeGarage Mid-pipe w/ high flow cat|Racing Beat Exhaust|Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pulley|AWR Full Motor Mounts|TWM Short Shifter and bushings|Lowered (type unknown, done by previous owner) I just plain love this car! The exterior styling looks aggressive straight from the factory and it just looks mean when lowered with some nice rims. The black interior looks very nice with a little silver plastic trim. The leather seats could definitely hug you a bit more on those tight turns but they do their job. The only reason gave the Protege5 a 4/5 in performance is its lack of horsepower. With its aggressive styling and superb handling it demands more power.
Pros:
*Handling Cons: Not enough power!! It takes curves like a champ but it definitely lacks power in the straight-aways. When adding a turbo kit the weak rods severely limit how much boost you can push through the engine. |

Great Car, Handle Awsome — I'v had this car since august, even though being ripped off by the dealer in the way of safety concerns I am happy with it. I need to upgrade the tires from the poor handling Dunlop SP's, but will be looking at adding 18 inch rims, cold air intake, and a racing stripe to add to the syling. The fog lights set this cars looks up nicely, but mazda need to learn not to rip people off on parts that can 't be found eexcept from the dealer Pros: reletively inexpensive to run, great gas mileage, good looks, comfortable Cons: $200 dollars for one foglight, are they nuts!!! |

You'll Give Up Before It Does Through The Turns — With ridiculous skid pad performance who needs top speed? Or acceleration. Or a quiet interior. Definitely a driver's car. Pros: Handles as good, if not better, than cars far above its class Cons: Lacking horsepower, seats don't have big enough bolsters |

Mazda Says It All: Zoom-zoom — Made a nice first project car. I think I've invested too much into it...but it's too late to stop now! The car is a lot more roomy than it works. I've fit 4 adults and packed the back full without a problem. This is a great car to have, it could be faster, but then I'd just get into more trouble. Pros: 4 disc brakes, fog lights, stock "body kit", light clutch pedal, relatively easy to mod, pretty stiff ride for a stock car, nice cornering! Cons: not anit-lock brakes (came as an option), nothing else really other than poor motor mounts (only reason build quality did not get 5 stars). |

The Car Has Overall Great Handling And Cornering Capabilitys, And If You Ever Need Road Trip Space, This Is Your Car. — All and all the car puts out when needed, great for taking corners and accelerating out of them, but not reccomened for long drag strips, unless you put either A.) Turbo or B.) Supercharge. Other than that its a good car to have around, fast, reliable, and spacious. Pros: Roomy and great handling. Good Acceleration.
Cons:
Top speed is something to desire, and well its a wagon nobody really |

Love It! — I love this car. It is the first car I have owned and I still love it. Super fun to drive, looks great, can fit SO much stuff in it. I highly recommend this car to anyone who enjoys driving! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: So much space! Fit all my belongings in there during a move PLUS a bicycle, no problem. Super fun to drive, love the manual transmission. I think its a super attractive car looks wise, sleek and sporty. Great first car to have Cons: Nothing out of the ordinary has happened, just normal wear on the car. Nothing bad to say about this car! |
