Great Value With Handling, Performance And Cargo Capacity Of A Suv — great handling, no rattles/creaks, great braking, bmw famous steering and suspension, great cargo carrying capacity, great moon roof, great family vehicle, over 20mpg city and short highway, but lack of modern tech and for an over 100k miles car maintenance is expected average

Pros: handling, cargo capacity, moonroof

Cons: lacks modern tech

Open Air German Engineering Motoring Fun — Most fun car that I have owned. Excellent handling and braking. Top down open air motoring. Good stereo, Form fitting seats. People notice this car and I get a lot of cool comments. BMW's inline 6 cylinder sound is intoxicating.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Incredible handling and braking.

Cons: None, fun car.

Great — Overall impressed after owning this E46 for many years, I was never let down and continue to enjoy the beauty of its style. Definitely a cruiser and an Instant Classic. After knowing the basic routine of maintenance it is all good to go.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Car has the looks for the year it was made and it does not get old. Really a great body. Handling and Casual Driving at its best.

Cons: Maintenance can be a somewhat of a con, considering you should keep up with it. But that is with any car.

Awesome Performance, Maintenance Nightmare! — Before I bought my 2003 BMW 330XI, my previous 2 cars were Toyota Camry's. I had admired BMW's for years and finally bought what appeared to be a very clean beautiful one owner BMW 330XI with no obvious problems. I purchased the car in September and by the next May I had spent more on repairs and replacing worn out part on this one car than I had on both my previous Camry's put together. Considering the fact that I drove one Camry to 328,000 miles and the other to 257,000 miles with almost no maitenance other than oil changes and tunes ups, this BMW was a shock to both my senses and pocketbook. I loved the amazing feel of the car but just couldn't justify spending so much money to keep the car in perfect running condition. BMW needs to up their reliability before I will ever buy another one of their cars. I just traded my 330XI in an a new Camry, which I hope to drive to well over 300,000 miles again. I'm sorry to see the beautiful BMW go but my pocketbook isn't.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Awesome driving vehicle. Great performance and a blast to drive! Like driving an F-16!

Cons: Constant mantenance problems. Very expensive repairs. In the shop every few weeks fixing something very expensive.

A Young Persons First Car — First look...and I fell in love. BMW makes beautiful vehicles! When I first purchased this car truthfully I was in love with its look and stability on the road. As I kept driving, particularly longer distances I noticed this particular car was not made for long distance comfort. Otherwise it's a nice car

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks great always gotten compliments

Cons: Not to comfortable.

Best Car Ever — sporty, peppy, stylish, smooth running and shifting, exceptional performance, easy response, ideal cargo space, fun to drive, great handling, good in snow/ice, no major problems, seldom in shop for anything other than routine maintenance; quiet, great value...my best buy ever,

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: best car ever owned; great value; fun; smooth running; sporty; never any major issues; ideal trunk room makes the car practical for all trips; quiet;dealer gives free car washes

Cons: can't trade for or find another car like it; no one makes soft-top convertibles with as much trunk room; blind spot right rear corner; gives little reason to trade in

The Ultimate Driving Machine — BMW builds a great car. Some of the technology was leading edge when I bought the car new in 2003. Now, almost ten years later, the styling and features still seem pretty fresh. Sure wish it had Bluetooth. Otherwise it's great!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Flexible, practical, "Swiss Army knife" (can do it all); great car for street and track. Even an above average winter car, with snow tires.

Cons: It's a little expensive, and gas mileage around town is only average (but very good on highway).
