2002 Subaru Impreza WRX WagonReview

Behold, The Draggin Wagon! — Add-ons: Stage 3 ProDrive Kit which includes a round tip rear muffler, an exhaust mid-pipe, a free flow catalytic converter/down-pipe, and a silicone intercooler Y-Pipe). I opted for a Perrin up-pipe instead of the ProDrive Flex up-pipe. I did not go with the ProDrive ECU upgrade, instead used Cobb AccessPort Tuner. Cusco Front Sway bar installed. Pros: For about $2600, the mods gave me some really nice power gains. Cons: Well, the wagon isn't as nice looking as the sedan, but at least the cops are less interested in chasing a wagon. |

Subaru Wrx 2002 — Performance is incredible. With simple mods and the factory AWD system, this ride corners like a pro and takes off the line with top grip. As far as the build quality, it's one of the most reliable and cheap to repair cars on the road. With that in mind, it's not an expensive car nor is it built like one. The roof is hollow and rain is loud on it. But if your engine is as loud as it should be, you won't even hear the rain when you're driving. Gas mileage is hard to estimate because the tank is so small, you are constantly filling up, however, it only costs about $45 a tank for 93. Fun fact, on a scale of 1-10 is a 15. AMAAAZING sound with the right exhaust. I would swear it's not a 4 cylender. I would recommend this car to anyone who loves to drive fast, have a great sounding motor, glue tight cornering, and not too much money. If you have money, buy a BMW. If not, Subaru is the way to go for sure. Pros: Speed, cornering, SOUND, style. Cons: O2 sensor sensitive and often needs to be replaced, hollow roof and poor sound insulation. |

Subaru Impreza Wrx Wagon — great 0-150 km/h acceleration, pretty good handling, easy to tune, doesn't feel like a wagon. poor braking, barely acceptable gas mileage. damn turbo lag and lacks high end power (when stock). pretty good front seats and folding rear seats and lots of room to go on tour with a rock band. Engine and stock blowoff valve are pretty quiet ( to me it's a short coming, but some will appreciate). replacement parts are expansive. It's got a short throw shifter that's really fun to use .AWD is lots of fun when the road gets wet or when it snows. But is less fun on dry pavement than a rear wheel drive car would be. it gets a good 60 ft on drag racing thanks to AWD but it's a lot more likely to break than a RWD or FWD car. Pros: performance, driving experience, AWD, handling, tuner's car Cons: gas mileage, cost of maintenance, stock tires |

2002 Subaru Impreza Wrx Wagon — Bought new in May 2001. A good blend of performance and practicality. Has been very reliable with no major mechanical issues. Not the most fuel efficient due to AWD. If you want luxury and high style look elsewhere. Pros: fun, practical, reliable, all weather ability Cons: fuel efficiency, style, luxury |

02 Subaru Impreza Wrx — performance wise the WRX is great comes stock with 220chp but with a few mods you can put out an easy 280. It has a relitively sporty interior, nice seats and a sweet Momo Steering Wheel. As far as far as price of ownership goes insurance will get you with a sports car cost but the MPG isnt bad stock once you do mods youll loose milage but it also all depends on what kind of driver you are. Fun Factor is unreal its soo much fun to drive all wheel drive makes the car hug turns and make it a blast to drive in the snow. Pros: Handling, performance, appearance Cons: turbo Lag, Stock tires |

2002 Subaru Impresa Wrx: First Incarnation In Us — I love my WRX, but sometimes it doesn't love me back. This cars' performace really is as good as they say it is, but it has cost me a small fortune to keep it that way. There is a permenent alignment problem. There is a persistant fuel smell problem. I spent $3000 to fix the 2nd gear sincro. I spent another to grand for one fuel injector. There have been multple computer updates. You may think I beat on this thing, but that is far from the truth. To give you an idea how much I baby it, I can say I went 80,000 miles on the original brakes. As much trouble as it has been, it is everything I expected and more. This car has over 100,000 miles on it, is completly stock, has the original turbo, and will still blow the doors off many cars. Pros: More bang for your buck than any other sports car, and four doors! Cons: Repair costs are high, and this isn't even the STI. |

Loved This Car! — This was the first of 2 WRX's we owned. If we didn't have 3 kids in car seats we would definitely still have one! Pros: Great car in every way. Fun to drive Cons: The 2002 model had a very tight clutch. Other than that, no complaints. |

Bamf — Great bang for the buck, although nowadays most cars have 200+hp. This car is all about performance, if you want luxury go buy a Hyundai. Also, a great car to tune. I have upgraded the suspension as handling is most important to me, so I can blow by cars as they have to slow down for the curves. Pros: handling, torque, power, fun to drive, turbo charged Cons: turbo lag, clutch chatter, lack of luxury, broken window wiper, broken glove compartment, bad battery (the last 3 are my fault) |

Opposing My Previous Truck, This Thing Loved The Water. — So much in fact that it martyred itself right after Hurricane Charlie. I go a new motor and had it for another year until the residuals of the flooding became to much of a headache to deal with. Pros: Solid amount of power available from the second it was turned on, and it bit into the concrete like it was it's last meal. Cons: Weak, weak, weak transmission. The flood created way more problems that would have never taken place. It really is a shame. |

Quick Little People Carrier — I have the automatic trans. so acceleration from 0 kind of sucks. But i've put this little car through it's paces and it rules. Pros: Awsome in the corners, especially in weather. Cons: Dead stop acceleration sucks if you have the automatic transmission. |
