My Jeep Thoughts — Thee 2002 jeep liberty is a interesting vehicle. The vehicle 3.7l power tech does a good job at moving the vehicle around but with not a great fuel economy. Its a very fun car to drive very quite on the inside with a good sound system

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: 4X4

Cons: Fuel economy

Do Not Buy One — I will never own another Liberty. Bad MPG on the highway handels like crap and always broke down. But the plus was it would go anywhere and wouldnt get stuck the four wheel drive was nice to switch from 4x4 to 4x2

Pros: nothing

Cons: everything

Jeepy — Everything about this SUV is great. It is very maneuverable and short enough to park in tight spaces. Never had a problem with it that I didn't cause. I have it lifted 2.5" and I would definitely recommend lifting it, it looks way better and handles better. The only thing they could have done different is that they could have put a 4.0 or a V8 in it because the 3.7 is a little small for the Liberty's weight. I would say if they had matched the engine with the weight the Lib would get far better mileage. This is a great SUV that can handle just about anything you through at it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone used, but you have to get a mechanic to look at it beforehand.

Good On Space, Bad On Your Wallet. — This car has Very good Performance, it has Good Build Quality, its Not the best on Appearance, its Good on Maintenance but horrible on gas mileage, and the fun factor is kinds low the car is not super fun to drive but it is fun to drive in 4x4.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The speakers.

Cons: Gas mileage

I Would Buy It Again — performance-3.7l v6 provides enough power but this vehicle could have better acceleration appearance-love the interior, stylish, black and silver with tan leather. exterior I like has nice curves build quality- could be better, but it is still a very solid vehicle.. i did need to replace my drive shaft but my car is over 200 thousand miles cost-14mpg =( its terrible for the size of the vehicle, but then again i love driving it and it is a 2002 fun factor- off the road this vehicle is a great ride, i love offroading in it

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: very fun, good looks, nice interior, comfortable ride, surprisingly well at off-roading

Cons: Gas mileage

I Love My Jeep. If It Had Rear Seats That Lie Flat, A Sunroof, Cd Player It Would Be Perfect. — My Jeep has better acceleration that my husbands Dodge Caravan. It handles well. It hasn't needed repairs and I hve it serviced about every 4-6 months, 3 months are not needed for my jeep. My Jeep is RED and I have had it for almost 10 years and I can't imagine trading it in. I love my Jeep! I would like better gas milage, it gets 10-20 mpg. It is a fun vehicle!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I feel safe and can see over most cars

Cons: No sunroof or CD player and the rear seats don't lie  flat.

Good Go Everywhere Now Matter What Come Hell Or High Water Car. — By far the star of this car is it power in the low end. Coming off the line to 60mph is faster then the base BMW X5 from 2004. Impressive for a car that cost significantly less. Also worth a mention is its off-road ability, you will never encounter a situation on any road that this Jeep won't handle. Off-road it has it limits but I've kept up with stock wranglers on a frequent basis. That dent in this shiny car is its gas milage. If you drive aggressively you get 12-13mpg in the city, 20-25 on the highway. If you drive nice you get 25-30 on the highway and 18 in the city.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Off road capability, high quality interior, good power between 0-70mph, very fast between 0-30, towing ability, very fun to drive.

Cons: Gas guzzler, eats 1 quart of oil every 1-2000 miles

Overall An Excellent Vehicle. I Love It! — I really love the power i feel out of this little SUV. I can give it gas and it picks right up. I am also very happy with the 4WD capabilities. Overall, cost of ownership is low because maintenance is low. Gearboxes only need changed every 15k-30k, radiator every 100k, and tranny every 50k-60k. Gas mileage is about the same as my Ranger. about 20mpg. The handling can get a little rough around corners, keep the tires at 33psi and that should help.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Power, comfort, flexibility

Cons: gas mileage, handling

If You Like A Reallly Rough Ride Buy A Liberty — it accelerates really well with the 3.7L v6. personally i dont think this machine was made to be driven on bumpy main roads like where i live at becuase the thing rides like a tank! sometimes if youhit a bump fast enough it will hurt! gas mileage is just as good as my 1997 gmc seirra which has a v8 in it. this thing is really fun for off roading and awesome in the snow! overall though i really dont like it!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Because its the only thing i have to drive

Cons: the ride is really rough and there is not alot of room in it
