Time To Trade — I like the Ranger for it clean looks and it works well for me as a basic construction work vehicle. Not much uphill pulling power when towing in the mountains but I have hauled a lot of things with this vehicle. The supercab is marvelous for getting things quickly out of the weather when my tool box is already full.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Purchased used at 115K miles and has been very reliable.

Cons: Gas mileage seems pretty low for such a small pickup.

Durable, Performing, Trustworthy Vehicle. — Visibility in this vehicle is phenomenal, as well as how long it has lasted and still seem to plan to last. It has a little engine trouble here and there but is well worth it. Great vehicle with really reliable long-term stability.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great vehicle that's gotten me far. Still has a good amount of life left at 130,000 miles.

Cons: Annually there's usually about a five to seven hundred dollar fix that needs to happen now that it's in its older life. But with it payed off, it's worth it.

Good, Reliable, Truck — can't tow a house, can't seat six... but it does start reliably every day, run efficiently, and haul what it needs to when i need it to. meets the needs of 75% of truck owners. if only ford would revive the ranger, perhaps an international model with a small diesel... i might buy another.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Excellent reliability, right sized truck

Cons: low on power

Slick And Indiscrete — This is my first Ford car and has been treating me well, parts are cheap and easy to replace. I have practically loved out of this car for the last 2 years and has been home sweet comfortable home, great for camping, road trips, commuting and hauling.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: This car looks and feels great, has a lot of power and really good on gas. The stereo system is killer , get ready to make an impression!

Cons: not a whole lot of passenger room, seats 3 max, but i have had about 8 people in the back of the pickup!

Sporty Little Truck — I like this trucks reliability and its easy to clean without that stinkin carpet, its cheaper on gas with the 3.0 v6 than the bigger 4.0 v6 . I wish it had a little more leg room. still a great little truck.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: truck is reliable and fun to drive.

Cons: truck is a little small.

Power Ranger! — I never get stuck anywhere. the extended cab option makes it to where i can lean the seat back and move the seat back, which is great for taller guys like me. has enough power to pull even a pontoon boat!

Pros: - 4wd works great
- extended cab = more room
- stick shift for more control
- cranks up without fail everyday

Cons: - only 17 mpg city

Terrible Truck, There Are Better Options Out There. — The performance was decent for a small truck with a 4.0L V6. It handled decently, acceleration was decent as was the gas mileage. The quality is sub-par, water pump seized at 9k miles, brakes were metal to metal at 15k and again at 30k, needed new tires and shocks at 30k. The truck had multiple squeaks and rattles even prior to taking off-roading. The towing capacity was worthless on this truck. Cost of ownership was terrible due to all the issues and wear items that did not last as long as they should have. The ride quality was not the greatest.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: This truck handled great off-road between the 4.10 gears and the light weight it could go just about anywhere.

Cons: The overall quality of this truck.

Would Buy One All Over Again. Better Options, Better Gas Economy On The Newer Models. — Great power, will pull anything. Love that the 4WD will kick in on its own. Very comfortable for long trips, plenty of storage in the cab, the 4 doors and 2 jump seats help out with getting loads or people in and out.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great condition, no accidents, well maintained.

Cons: Gas mileage is much better on the newer model Rangers.

A Good Reliable Truck, That In Which: The Power Window's Will Ultimately Stop Working. — Engine gets poor MPG... Truck has good power, but at highway speed, transmission causes a 5 second delay from the time you put your foot down, to the time it finally does anything with the power. The Premium Ford 6-Disc changer is garbage... Truck is reliable. has never left me hanging... Does well off-road but lacks personality...Ultimately a very nice looking truck, that starts when you tell it to, but pretty much any amenity Ford put in it will stop working. Whoever installed the interior was drunk. Plus a lucky rock kicked up by a passing big rig will take big chunks out of the plastic hexagon-bubble grill.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Reliable. Easy to drive.

Cons: Cheap interior. Not exciting to drive.
