Great Well Rounded Car — Performance is good for 3.0i, but definitely struggles when trying to accelerate on hills. Build quality is good. Some interior pieces on common areas such as door handles and steering wheel flake/chip, but overall had held up well. Gas mileage with city and commute driving has been @18mpg. Has been a great well rounded vehicle for commute, city, and snow.

Pros: sporty, cargo space, great handling for suv style

Cons: gas milage

X5 — LOVE this car - hate the rising gas prices This car is so sexy, fast, and fun; I can't find another vehicle I'd want. Other than normal BMW quirks, this car has been a dream. Maintenance is reasonable (it is still a luxury car). I love coming home to this car every time I'm away, and my passengers love it too... :)

Pros: Style, speed, performance, reputation, roominess, comfort, handling

Cons: gas prices

Oasis Supersonic — This car was in near-perfect condition when I purchased it used from Carmax. It is beautiful inside and out. The gas mileage is reasonable considering the weight of the car. I can get 19/24 on a regular basis, even on regular unleaded (sorry, it's way to expensive for premium right now).

Pros: I can take everyone in my car

Cons: I can take everyone in my car

Bmw X5 — fast, fun to drive, agile handling all with cargo room from an suv, sucks up way too much gas but is great in the snow and amazing to drive

Pros: fast, fun, agile, especially for an SUV, practical, great AWD system

Cons: expensive to fix, gas mileage really sucks, not very reliable

For Being The 1st Generation X5, Pretty Good — Having black interior in the desert is a big mistake (even though the black wood and quailty of leather is very upscale). Installing high quality DLS speakers both in the front and the rear along with the Alumapro 10 inch subwoofer makes listening to the ipod, XM, or cd's on the Pioneer D3 a treat. After a few years of abuse, the performance have dipped from the 4.6 V8, although still has enough power across the broadband for needed acceleration. Since the 4.6is is a special edition model, the blue paint is highly specific. A wonderful look along with the stock 20 inch rims.

Pros: Articulate sound system, roaring stock exhaust system, rare exterior paint

Cons: Gas mileage, higher mileage = less chance of reliablity

It's A Suv And Being So You Love Or Hate It... I Prefer The Second... — The vehicle is not bad at all. It only lacks some room in the rear trunk. Personally I think you may love SUVs or hate them and since I don't like them, I had to switch as soon as I could...

Pros: Very comfortable and nice looking. Driver's position is very good.

Cons: It's a SUV !!! No race, no speed, no emotions for me...

X-5 E-53 2002 3.0 Sport Auto All Wheel Drive — Such a high-end vehicle with shoddy work in leather trim and electronics! Maintenance and dependability are not to words that go together for and X-5. I love bimmer but if I did it all over I would have bought the Acura SUV instead of BMW and stick with buying sedans built and manufactured in Germany and not South Carolina. No not of S.C because I live there but BMW could have done better. I have a93 325is thats still running strong with almost 200,000 miles on it and never had the problems I've gotten with the X-5 maybe the bugs and kinks have been ironed out with newer models!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Due to its weight its a safe vehicle, even though its a 3.0 when it get up to speed on the highway it can move and has top in power to pass and overtake slower traffic. You really feel safe in it

Cons: The weight takes away from even better performance and gas mileage. BMW has the ability to make a big vehicle strong and stable and not be the same weight of a full-size Chevrolet truck at 2 tons! I have the earlier model and simple craftmans work is not there.

The Perfect Family Car. — What car shall you buy when you have driven sports cars your whole life and all of a sudden must buy a family car. The family car was a completely new world for me, I still wanted everything a sports car has and at the same time the car had to be both practical and safe. My choice was, and still is the BMW X5 4.6iS.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: The X5 has almost everything I want in a car.

Cons: Fuel consumption.
