Always Awesome — Porsche - what else is there to say? Always a great rush to drive. Drove one daily for 35 years. This is a great starter Porsche for a first time owner. Easy to get financing on any Porsche in good condition.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Chick magnet - my wife looks good in it too

Cons: Too hard for me to get in an dout at 76 yrs oold

Get Them While They Are Cheep! — Great cars for the money, updated look but money left to fuel. The 996 is often overlooked but the turbo and C4S cars are truly worth a second look. I have several Porsche's and like the look and feel of the 996's interior and cost of ownership.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Wife likes the Tip/Automatic

Cons: Only 300 HP

Super Reliable And Super Fun To Drive — Timeless classic. Always the car you take when you want to take the long way home. For a great handling car this Porsche is really easy to drive. Fully loaded, never drivn in the winter and rarely in the rain

Pros: Wonderful driving car, amazing handling, timeless classic

Cons: Nothing about a Porsche is cheap to fix or repair.  No suprise though

An Absolute Blast, But Be Careful Of Tickets! —

This car flies! The flat 6 is an awesome engine and Porsche did a great job getting the power to the wheels. When driving a 911, you must keep your foot on the gas pedal while going through corners. The more power you put down, the better the car handles. If you go into a corner too hot and lift the throttle, the back end will cut loose. Mine had the stability control, which saved me from a potentially very expensive accident. The car is surprisingly comfortable for a sports car. Visibility is very good and the seats are supportive. The car has great feedback and you know what the tires are doing at all times. The brakes are incredible and I never felt brake fade (even through the canyons). I tried to use my 996 as a daily driver. The problem is that you want to push the car at every gap in traffic (on the freeway), so you wind up well over 100 every day. For us, your car can be confiscated if you get caught over 100. The fuel tank is a little small and the gas mileage is fair (21 ish), so I couldn't go a week without getting gas. My choice to sell my 996 came with mixed emotions. The car is absolutely amazing to drive - no questions. The rear engine makes it a challenging car, but once you get the feel of throttle through the corners, it becomes an amazing car to drive. One other thing about the 996 - I didn't have a problem with the IMS, but I hear others have. The engines are replaced as a complete module, so no rebuilds. I've heard it is a $15K repair.

Pros: Great looking Porsche!  Tons of power, great chassis, engine sings, communicative, light weight - a lot of car for the money.

Cons: Maintenance costs were high.  Had a couple things go wrong, which should not at under 60K miles.  Eats rear tires - make that eats expensive rear tires.

The Classic Look Of Porsche — Great car! Fun to drive and sexy. Classic styling and tons of power. Great for a weekend drive or daily driver. Something about a Porsche that always remains constant that is appealing. Would love to have a convertible, but the overall look is superb.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Classic Clook

Cons: No Back Seats

Porsche Turbooooooo — Best car ever guys... anyone who has driven this thing knows it's a flipping monster. This care does everything you want and more. Expect maintenance to be costly, but if you can get this car.... GET THIS CAR!. Fast as hell, handles like crazy, and the all wheel drive is phenominal.

Pros: Wow

Cons: Expensive.

Awesome — Bye bye to everything else on the road - the capabilities of this car are truly gobsmacking! Acceleration, braking, handling all amazing. Bose sound system completely wicked. The biggest pleasure driving this beast is overtaking on country roads – if you flatten the accelerator and don’t come off it until you are abreast of the other car, you are already doing 170 – and it will keep accelerating like a mad thing all the way to 270 when it starts to work very hard on the way to 300kmh Does 200kmh like other cars do 60kmh. An amazing car to drive.

Pros: Everythin

Cons: A little too easy to do huge speeds

It's A Porsche — Has good performance (for Estonia it's enogugh due to the traffic police factor) Handling is quite good only downside is the understeer due to the weight distribution. Overall it is a good car, looks great with the top down and great fun to drive all year around even when it is snowing.

Pros: Looks good, good performance etc.

Cons: Understeer

2001 Porsche 991 Carrera Cabriolet — Looking a little dated now, but a well built car, very reliable. Nice engine note. Handled well for a cabriolet. With the hard top on it was almost a good as a coupe, but a fair bit heavier. Looks too similar to the Boxster and shares a lot of components

Pros: Well made, quick

Cons: Looks a little dated compared to new 997

It wasn’t too appealing knowing it’s a coupe with not much power to accelerate. I’d rather go for a GT3 though it costs more but it’s worth the money. Read More
