2001 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class Review
AdvancedEuropeqnMotors says:
Beautiful little car. Handles well, fast accelerator, good fuel mileage. Love the hardtop. No good reason to give it up, other than to own a Porsche. vs2001 Porsche 911
2001 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class winning categories:
Power
Ranked 2001 Porsche 911 better.
"An engine designed for that. SLK is a great cross between a performance car and a fun to drive, sports car. I think the SLK is vastly more practical."
Handling
Ranked 2001 Porsche 911 better.
"Quicker response. SLK is more like a conventional power steering, only tighter."
Cargo Capacity
Ranked 2001 Porsche 911 better.
"With the two back seats, and the small front trunk, the 911 handles more luggage."
Family Car
Ranked 2001 Porsche 911 worse.
"If its a family of two. Even then, not much room for a trip luggage." |

Would Not Buy Again — Seats suck, leather is junk and wears quickly. Handles like crap. Paint was of poor quality. Wind screen was of poor design. Interior wasn't quality. Fit and finish not up to par for a german car. I expected far more than I got. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Hardtop is better than soft top. Decent radio Cons: Most everything. |

Mercedes Slk Kompressor Great All Round Car — absolutley gorgous to drive service history a must with thease cars prefebly mobil one for kompressor version (supercharged) milage is not really important with that in mind, careful of lip on arches rusting due to car not being cleaned propely Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: power, comfort, smoothness, stereo syestem, safety Cons: people not cleaning inner lips in arches propely causing them to rust |

For A 1st Generation Slk It's Great And The Newer Ones Are Even Better....and Faster. — I took a 3 week trip and covered 5000 miles this summer. The mileage best was 29.95 mpg. When I returned home I needed brakes but 110,000 is pretty good for the original brakes and it was only the front brakes. Pros: Pretty much the whole package is great. Cons: Getting out of the car...I'm 6'3" |

Fun Roadster That Becomes A Coupe! — The Benz that goes topless. All the niceties of a high end coupe like perforated leather seats, heated seats, dual climate control, power everything with the bonus of being a top down summer roadster that turns into a beautiful hard top coupe in 20 seconds. Still looks brand new after 10 years and drives like it left the show room. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Too much fun! Cons: Wish it had more cargo space top-down. I hate that it gets all my attention lately with the warm weather. |

Amazing Drive — Very good car specially in summer. Ladies love it. 2300 cc supercharge is an amazing engine. Even with the hardtop roof folded in the boot, it still have alot of space. It was the first hard top convertable made. Spot on Car. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Best Summer car Cons: Check the engine oil leak in supercharge model |

A Blast To Drive — I love the fact that it's a hard-top convertible and the top goes right in the trunk. It's very fast and fun to drive. A little bit on the expensive side when it comes to gas. Oh and the ladies love it!! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Fun to Drive Cons: None |
