Not The Best Buy — Gorgeous looks and amazing sound system, but the build quality is not up to par, the handling is atrocious, fuel consumption is through the roof, and Mercedes thought they could hide behind the badge. It didnt work. Not a good all round car.

Pros: Gorgoues looks

Cons: Everything else is cheap

Powerful And Classy Yet Rather Unreliable Offroad — this ML55 AMG, built in 2001, was bought by our family in late 2006. it has a 5.5Liter AMG engine, 347 horsepower, 510 newtonmeters of torque, 0-100 in approx. 6.5 seconds, top speed of over 230km/h. an amazing car for on road driving, but usless offroad due to only 18.5 cm of ground clearance. black leather interior with tinted back windows. an amazing car but not suited for the desert we live in.

Pros: powerful, sexy, comfortable, safe

Cons: expensive, fuel consumption very high, useless off-road

The "bubble " / Aka The Chariot ! — This is a Great little SUV. We call her, the "Bubble" I was going to sell it for a moment and then looking at her and thinking about how good these are in the snow and off road I couldn't part with her. We bought her sight unseen from St. Louis, flew over and drove her back to Arizona the next day without a problem. We don't know how the previous owner took care of her but she was in pretty decent shape and they were Fantastic people that still keep in touch ,she's in good hands now and we will keep her forever. Going to do a few mods here and there but nothing radical. Low maintenance, decent gas mileage and comfortable for long halls, I'm 6'6. Great little SUV. They won't disappoint.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Love the style love the handling. Great little low maintenance SUV ! Still really quiet for a 14 year old suv, easy to work on and parts are reasonable.

Cons: Don't like the power steering whine, a lot of the older models do it and Mercedes should look into it. Could use a tad bit more power especially coming up mountains.

It's A Rock On Car To Drive. Just Don't Buy Any Of Them Older Than 2006 — I love my ML. However, this model before 2006 is not so much of a reliable car. It has quite a bit of electronic issues. However, the overall driving, handling and performance is still one of the best car to drive. The ML made a break thought in reliability after 2006.

Pros: It is a solid car on highways and feel most safe to sit in for long trips...

Cons: It is one hack of a very expensive car to maintain...

Ml55 — Love the engine, 350 horse and 348 pound feet of torque, the thing is a rocket. Handbuilt AMG V8, one of the wonders of the modern world. Combined with the Benz AWD system this SUV is a force to be recond with, very few SUV's eat up road like this thing does. I currently looking for a ML63 or a G55.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Performance, handling, exhaust note.

Cons: Fuel economy, but I don't care.
