Power Is Nothing Without Control. — Hands down the best looking Impreza out of all the generations. If you are into the "old school" Imprezas then this is the one.

Pros: Handles like on rails!

Cons: My friends make more than double my power.

I Thought It Would Be The Modern Version Of The Integrale — Well, no it isn't. Straight line speeds is crazy with GTO kit (280 bhp). And it is just soooo rock solide! Lovely noise too. Handling was quite strange. Inside luxury? Well, errrrr, I had air conditioning :)

Pros: Performance, indestructible

Cons: Not an Integrale

Awesome — Just add the car to a nice quiet twisty road, some pumping music (optional), polarized Oakleys (optional) and a labotomy (essential). The end result is an ear to ear grin :-)

Pros: See the review

Cons: Fuel cost, eats tyres, speading fines, clean underwear,,, nothing really!

Sexy — This 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS is a knock out for the pocket rocket family. Its powered by a 2.5L H4 SOHC engine. The engine puts out a solid 165 horses and 166-lbs of torque with awd. The Rally Sport edition comes with an intriguing exterior that is equipped with a rear spoiler, sporty 16inch allow wheels, hood scoop and vents, stylish front bumper with working fog lamps and a moon roof. Although the acceleration and speed is great its also equipped with 4-disc brakes and ABS. The car sits at a nice height with a Rally Sport tuned suspension with front and rear sway bars to increase control on those tight turns in any type of weather. The interior is relatively satisfying with comfortable bucket seats with a sporty two toned cloth followed to the rear bench and the door cards, leather wrapped steering wheel, a decent 4 speaker stereo system and green lit gauges and controls. Although this is a sedan the trunk is quite large for what is expected.

Pros: Sport tuned suspension, great acceleration, great handling, sporty appearance, good gas mileage, sticks out in a crowd of hondas and mitsubishis.

Cons: lack of cup holders.

Favourite Car Ever Owned — Great performance and loved the gurgling exhaust note. Very expensive sports cars had to be on their toes.

Pros: Performance, reliability, sound, handling

Cons: Really bad fuel consumption

Great Performance For A Few Bucks —

Another car I just had to drive to see if it lived up to the hype, etc. when it first came out. I visited my local Subaru dealer (Sierra in Monrovia) and they had one of these on hand. I told the salesman that I was interested in a test drive of the WRX. He said it would not be possible. I asked to talk to the manager and he agreed to a test drive, but they required a credit check. I agreed and I had to wait about 15 minutes for this to occur. We then went out to the car and the salesman naturally had to start the car. First thing he told me was that it was necessary to allow the car to idle for about a minute to allow oil to flow to the turbo bearings before driving off. By the time he had introduced me to the amenities of the car, we were off to the driveway out the lot. We then exchanged places. At this point he told me that I was to turn right four times as soon as possible - basically just make the block. I told him that I waited 15 minutes for them and I was going to take the car for a test drive. I asked him to make sure his seat belt was tight and we were off. The car is very spry and I was always confident that it would follow all commands - acceleration, turning, braking. This was a great car and it was reasonably priced. From a standing start there was a bit of lag for the turbo to kick in, but when it did, it was very strong. I drove the hatchback version which had decent space for 4 people and a little room in the back. It is a nice package and was a lot of fun to drive.

Pros: Acceleration, Handling, Braking, cost

Cons: Kind of goofy looking - but they have cleaned it up a bit over the years

A Must To Own Or Drive For Any Car Enthusiest — ok i love this car to bits, it isn't the fastest but it is really quick, fun in the corners and just holds on to the road, but there is always something better :P but who doesn't love a classic

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: it's quick takeoff and awsome cornering

Cons: it drinks alot of fuel, but that's not the reason i brought it

Power Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series better.
"if you rate a car on hp per dollar then the beamer would win, but you dont have as much fun whit the same power in a bmw than a impreza in my opinion!"
Handling Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series worse.
"The impreza handling is incomparable whit the bmw handling, whit good tires and AWD you dont really need to slow down for corners!"
Looks/Style Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series worse.
"It looks amazing!"
Front Seats Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series worse.
"They are bucket seats, and they are also comfy!"
Back Seats Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series better.
"they are just more comfy than the impreza rear seats!"
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series better.
"The beamer has a bigger trunk, but the hole car is a bit bigger!"
Family Car Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series better.
"The impreza is really a sports car not a family car, if you want a AWD sports car then the better choice would be like a forester or something else but not the impreza!"
Value Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series worse.
"Its simple, reliable, incredibly good handling and in my opinion nothing beats the sound of a rumbly turbo flat 4!"
Would Buy Ranked 2000 BMW 3 Series worse.
"When I got a imrpreza it just blew me away that a car could handle this great compared to a bmw, and also it is a AWD car that weights less then a RWD BMW!"
