2000 Grand Am Gt Ownership Review — I like the acceleration and styling of the car, overall quality is low though. Transmission is about to be fixed for the second time and brakes are a constant issue. The motor itself seems to be holding up well as well as the body and suspension. On the fence whether i still like the car or not... Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Engine, Styling, Body Cons: Transmission, Brakes, Tires |

Thumbs Up. — Has good acceleration, good handling. i think it is a nice looking car, inside and out. comfortable. not bad on gas for a larger car. solid car. like most cars, needs to be taken care, undercoating and what-not. unlike the last owner of my car. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: I just love it. Cons: the last owner |

The Black Beauty — I had this car for 4 years. It seemed kinda cheaply built. A lot of parts broke after a while. I put a lot of miles on it. It got like 32 mpg not bad. Didn't go too hot in the snow. I loved the sunroof...Nice looking car. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Good MPG, good looking car Cons: Too small for family, kinda cheaply made |

Mid Grade Sedan — this car is pretty normal with minimal handling and a low top speed of maybe 110 miles per hour. the torque is mid to low level.i cannot complain i got this car when someone else was done with it and got an amazing deal. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: gas mpg Cons: none |

If You Are Going To Get A Grand Am Get The V6 — My Grand Am burns oil, its rusting (my fault), Looks like a red door stop and handles like a radio flyer wagon. I shouldn't be complaining because it's been a really reliable car; but i don't enjoy driving it. I should have never sold my jeeps!!! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: gets good gas mileage (only good thing about it) Cons: 2.4 L. notorious for not lasting long and same with the trannys |

I Like It A Lot — its quick, handles well, fast, and looks good. its good on gas and drives very well. very nice sound system. smooth ride and its a 4 door so its good to haul ur friends around. Also its a fairly cheap sports car thats good with insurance costs. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: its real quick Cons: turn signals r picky |

My Review — It's my car so obviously I'm biased. I like how it looks and that it can turn heads when its all cleaned up. Out of the factory it kida lacks power, but then again, it wasn't meant to be a race car. The "Ram-Air" thing is a gimmick on this car, but whatevs. Pros: looks aggressive Cons: Kinda lacking Power out of the box |

Britt's Car — Sometimes my car can get sick and not run right, but with a little of Dad's money, she's fixed up like new. And is the best car ever! When she's crusin' down the highway at 70 mph, she is doing what she loves, and that's goin' fast. Pros: Looks great and sounds great. Cons: Might break down randomly, but fixes nicely. |

Grand Am Plus And Minus — Positive: Great Performance, good gas mileage, nice look, holds up well, easy to work on and change oil, brakes, rotors, etc. Exhaust is good stock, still has had no trouble. Ram Air is a great asset, but clean out the intake throttle body occasionally and run injector cleaner to keep flushing the crud out that the air filter doesn't catch. Body has held up well, was undercoated and rustproofed when new. Negative/repair journal: Intake Gaskets go out every 40k miles and cost $500, wheel bearings are also an issue - get the good ones and you are OK for 50k miles or so. Think I have a minor problem with the transmission or torque converter, but will be cheaper to repair than to buy a new car. Overall: It is a great car, has lasted us 10 years and almost 100k miles, hope to get another 50-100k out of it yet, now that I know what to repair and how. I would recommend to a friend if they wanted a versitile and sporty family car with 4 doors, but yet a good performer that didn't look like a wagon. Pros: performance, appearance, gas mileage Cons: maintenance, repairs |
