Excellent Car That I'll Hate To Part With. — Unfortunately, I'll probably be giving this car to my daughter soon. It's been a fantastic vehicle even though I haven't always had the money to take care of it like I should. After 12 years it's a lot louder than it used to be, but it still starts right up and has a lot of zip. There have been some repairs, but nothing out of the ordinary for a car this old -- except for the windows. Three of the cars windows have malfunctioned, and this is not an uncommon problem with the Elantra of this vintage. I paid to have the driver's side, front window replaced. I replaced the passenger's side front window myself (and saved a bunch, it was pretty easy considering I'm NOT handy). The driver's side rear window has been broken for over a year. I have it rigged to always stay in the UP position. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Excellent fuel economy. Nice size. Fantastic visibility. Cons: 3 of the 4 window mechanisms have broken and needed to be replaced. |

Introducing.... The Perfect Beater — great car till you gut it, put racing stripes on it, and install a true dual sidepipe exhaust that sounds horrible, good on gas, placed 8th in points at the scca rally cross for modified fwd. i constantly beat the crap out of it and even with 180k it keeps coming back for more Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: unique and good on gas Cons: its too loud |

Not Bad For A Korean Piece Of Crap — around 30mpg, standard package, quite reliable for a 4cyl, repairability can be a pain due to cramped areas and small problem with rusting bolts {thanks korea}, bodywork is thin and dents easily, {doors vibrate with its stock speakers, possibly due to bad mounting} Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: wagon, lots of room, good for driving to work Cons: bad seals in engine, can stall at low RPMs, slow acceleration, weak front bumper, does not like mud, burned my arm |

Love This Car. I'd Buy A Hyundai Again, But Not After Exploring Other Makes First. — Decent build quality. Comfortable interior with intuitive, easy to reach and use controls. Decent acceleration, and brake feel, but the brakes fade too quickly. Above average fuel economy. Fun to drive, but could offer more driving excitement with better brakes or a slightly retuned transmission. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Good daily driver. Very functional, but not as exciting as comparable models from German manufacturers Cons: Bland, boring, nondescript design. |

Good For Work — Goes good on gas but very less power. Build quality is average, nothing great. But for the $, its good deal. Cost of ownership is very less. Not a fun to drive. Appearance is OK. New model is little refined. Just for going office. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: NVH Cons: Power |

First Car — Seeing as how it was my first car, and it was previously owned at that, not everything would be what we all expect. The car was beautiful on the inside and the outside. Pros: It was my first car. And it had a pretty small tank. But it was good to drive. Cons: It had no CD player and it really didn't do everything that anybody would want a car to do. |

The Good The Bad And Wagon — its bad, let me explain, the car is good, but when you stop and prees again the accelerator pedal, the motor not respond like if you put the first or second speed, its to lazy, and is a vaccum whit gas. have good confort and space, its better for long travels, not for the city Owner for 3 years, 2 months Miles Driven per Year:17,000 Pros: never surrender, its for battle, no have troubles Cons: its lazy for the automatic speed changes, and suck gas |

This car isnt the pinnacle of performance but for the price it is pretty fun to drive and its very comfortable inside also very cheap to own however the window motors have failed (not uncommon), the automatic transmission is also a bit laggy but still overall this car feel sporty but comfortable (it is not fast by any measure) also gets great gas mileage vs2000 Honda Civic EX
