Only If Heavy Towing Or Off Roading Are Your Primary Use Of The Vehicle — It was an Enterprise Rental vehicle back in May 2000. The drive was from central NJ to Boston, MA via I-95 and I-395. It had the SLT trim, I believe it had the 4.7L V8, given the average highway fuel economy was around 17-18 MPG with stuff cargo and a few items on the roof with enough room for a driver and two addtional passengers. Given it was a 4x4 and its matching tires, on the highway I notice some vibrations. The transfer case shifter could be a stretch for someone with short arms. The controls on the dash are easy to reach and nicely layed out. With cruise control buttons on the four spoke steering wheel, which on the dash will indicate if it is on and whether a speed has been set. Under the rear cargo floor has additional compartments as well as on the sides of the cargo area.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: decent V8 power, reasonable cargo space and storage, easy to reach controls

Cons: a rough ride if used to a passenger car, would have like to see better fuel economy

00dd — Great power. LOVE the V8 motor in it. It's a bit of a gas hog, but it's not that bad for the size. Great acceleration, easy and fun to beat the sport cars with. A few issues, but otherwise a great vehicle.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: good looks, great power

Cons: mpg, shocks on the hatch go out fast, expensive aftermarket parts

My Toy — This is the perfect answer for my family, I was not going to be caught dead in a mini van. Lots of power and 4 wheel drive, you can't ask for more than that. Now I just need to lift it up about 6 inches and put on some 35 inch tires

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It looks and sounds mean

Cons: gas consumption

The Truck I Wanted — Good Truck, excellent if you take care of it. Got used with some miles, but it was in excellent condition. I will keep it for at least 18 more months until I get more $$$$ together and get a newer Durango, "Its for my wife" LOL

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Space, engine response

Cons: It's a V-8, so it drinks gas, but oh welll

Loved It — The thing flies...it weighs in at roughly 5,200lbs and goes 0-60 in around 6 sec...QUICK...i love the way it looks...well, looked...and the fact that it has the much rarer, much better performing 5.9 liter magnum v8. Also, it is a tank because of the sheer weight and it is a large SUV.

Pros: Fast, Strong

Cons: bad mpg

A Man's Truck — This was my first vehicle when i got my license. The power that the 360 put out was unbelieveable, all the torque was there. Never died on me, the worst that happened was i blew a spark plug while muddin but it still ran. The only thing i hated was fillin up at the pump, 80 bucks to fill this sucker

Pros: POWER, strong bulid, tons of room

Cons: GAS, GAS, GAS

My Durango — I am typically a sports car fanatic, however, having additions to my family I knew I needed something bigger. I have always liked the dodge durango, so I decided to try out several models. I was not so impressed with the 2007/08 models, so I decided to look at an older model. I tried to 98 model, it was a litle out of date, but I loved the performance, so I chose the 00 model. I love it! beautiful truck!. Even though the gas mileage is not so good around the ciity, it does however get good highway mileage. I have driven my truck to Florida and myrtle beach several times. This truck is a winner

Pros: performance, style, color, and system

Cons: Gas mileage!

The Rambo Durango — In the extreme dry deserts of Saudi Arabia, to the jungle damp of the Gulf Countries, this car has performed; where Air Conditioning is King this car A/C works like a magician. Here petrol is .13 cents per liter, the 425 Hemi engine is at its best; where the roads are long and desolate, hot, with hidden traps, like sandstorms, dreanching downpours, camals, goats, and Saudis, this car has survived. I would clasify this Durango the RAMBO of muscle SUV.s.
