1999 Explorer V8 — Performance: Average acceleration, braking and handling. Build Quality: No major repairs @ 175,000. Sunroof leaks some. Rear hatch rattles over large bumps. Appearance: Good. Clean and simple inside and out. Cost of Ownership: Gas mileage not great, 16-17mpg average. Maintenance cost are not bad. Fun Factor: Really?? Its fun in the snow, lol.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Lots of room.  Reliable.

Cons: Fuel mileage.

Good And Old ! — It was a dependable vehicle. It hat a few factory recalls. I wish I would have never had to get rid of it. I will own one in the future when I am able to afford it. This car treated me well.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It got me where I needed to be

Cons: It wore out,and I had to get a new car !

Awesome — Terrible rear suspension. Ford only put in 1 rear leaf spring in some models causing the rear to sag. 4 abs sensors lead to rediculous lights on the dash and a pulsing in the pedal. Amazing off-road and in the snow. Sounds Great and Can take a beating. Lives up to its name Built Ford Tough.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: powerful, fun to drive

Cons: Gas and tiping

I Wish I Never Sold This Car — I loved this truck. I put over $10,000 dollars into this truck in the course of 5 years. It was great for off roading and rock climbing but not so great for daily driving, especially at high speeds on the interstate. The steering box still needed some work as well as other steering components. Overall, it was unlike any other Explorer around and looked great with no body damage even after all of the off road trips I put her through.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Definitely a head turner and lots of fun

Cons: Hard to drive

This Vehicle Is Ok — The 4 wheel drive is great. The quality is ok. Great speed even with a blown tranie. Pig on gas and maintenance is well better left unsaid. Its the best for off roading and speed. Good for family outtings. OKAY

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Speed

Cons: Its a Ford

Amazing Quality, Great Buy. — Love it. Has about 250km on it, needed minimal work and this has seen true off road! Gas mileage in city isn't the greatest, but amazing on hwy. Acceleration pedal sticks a little. Paint has lasted, and minimal rust on back hatch. I do wish it had a more aggressive look.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: quality, reliability, 4wd, highway gas mileage, roomy

Cons: city gas mileage, jumpy gas pedal

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Drives well, 4wd works

Cons: Handles funny

Suckin Gas And Haulin Ass! — Has plenty of room for myself and 4 friends comfortably with the power of a sports car. All wheel drive so its virtually impossible to lose traction on wet pavement. All around darn good american made ford products for life!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Powerful and roomy

Cons: gas mileage

Excellent Performance And Quality — Very good brakes, pretty good acceleration, looks really good because I have HID headlights and window tint, nothing has broken because it's a FORD,about 15mpg (I have a lead foot) really fun to drive, best in class easily, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for fun.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It easily does a burnout for an SUV

Cons: Nothing its a FORD! I could use a V8
