A Worse Version Of The Dodge Neon...should I Say More? — I owned this car for 22 hours and I traded it in after getting it from my brother in law. The cars interior falls apart, the exterior paint was chipping and fading. It had no power whatsoever and the power steering was out. The car did not have a CD player, no automatic doors or windows. It had no rims just hub caps. All in all this car was the pits.

Pros: Good on gas

Cons: Everything you hate about an American car and more.

98 Neon — Slowest four cylinder on the planet. Especially with the 3 speed automatic, ehhhhhh. Brakes are pretty good even though rears are drums and only fronts are disk. Handling is solid. Body is solid. Rear windows leak sometimes and moisture accumulates in the trunk. Gas mileage is good but would expect better for as low as the power output is. It's a car that you can make fun to drive but is slack when bone stock.

Pros: It can be made pretty fun

Cons: everything when its stock

Wondeful, Reliable, Cheap To Maintain, Good Performance (for The Price). — Mine has never broken down in 10 years of it's life of which 6 have been mine. Love the 2.0 DOHC engine, sounds good and packs quite a bit of torque for a ten year old $ cylinder. Killed a Miata like it was standing there! haha... Installed a new front bumper with Fog Lamp holes, but I don't have any so it give the impression of air intakes, which makes it look much mopre aggressive. I love the way you feel the road in this car, feels like you're feeling the road yourself, which is great.

Pros: Good Performance, Good Looks, reliable, cheap to maintain. Stock exhaust sounds good. Sporty looks (relatively speaking).

Cons: Has a bad reputation because of the 95-97 models, which were considerably less reliable. Grandma stock rims(in picture)(could have been the worse "bubble" hubcaps).

My Expresso Bean — My first car! Of course, a 98 neon. I think everyone has had one. Good car, I had it for about 3 years. Lots of good times!

Pros: Good on gas..

Cons: It was ugly blue, it's a neon.

I Always Call This Car The Fastest Slow Car On The Planet — I absolutely love this car! Easy to work on and has been very reliable. Easy to get HP gains and now that the car has been around a while there are some cool tricks to perfecting this car. It also gets about 30 mpg....when I keep my foot off the gas. Stock motor mounts are terrible...buy inserts if you want the problem to go away don't continue to buy stock mounts. Also do not let the motor mounts go...the engine riding on the chassis damages so many things the motor mounts are there for a reason. If you car ever starts running bad or starts to want to die in the middle of the street. Took me a while but I found out the Coolant sensor on this car is very touchy. Change that out and if you still have problems check the wiring leading up to the sensor. The older cars get mine is a 98 the heat of the motor will eventually start effecting wiring, hoses etc.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very easy to work on or maintain parts are easy to get and if you don't mind spending time in part yards there are a million neons out there with parts waiting to be snatched up.

Cons: parts at the parts stores are either the correct part or they are the wrong part.  I highly recommend that if you are working on your neon to make sure you have the part in hand when going in to get your part to match it up.  otherwise you will be making a lot of trips.  if you want to spend 2 to 4 times as much for parts just visit your local Chrysler, Dodge dealership.  Also one of the biggest problems that Neon's have is that their dash needles jump...but I found a vid on YouTube and i have successfully repaired two Neon instrument clusters in less than 30 mins by re soldering the back of the electrical panel.
