Classic Mgf Sportscar — Nice little showy motor, cheap to buy looks mint in the summer and Well built. Obviously you dont look into things like boot space and rear seats with this baby. Suits a single man/woman or a childless couple. Perfect for the weekend. Useless in the snow as rear wheel drive. Oh yes a tad bit noisy from the engine.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Perfect little car to pose in, would get 1 again

Cons: Not keen on the awkwardness of getting to some parts near the engine.

Don't Expect A Porsche But Expect To Be Surprised! — Coolant problems and K Series Head Gaskets are always a problem unless you get the upgrade. Plus side, good cheap, fun open top motoring, you can't get much better than the MGF! 50 ltr tank will give me 600km to a tank. If you look after it, you don't need to spend the earth. A 15 year old car with 50,000 miles on the clock, itshould still sail through the MOT's!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Inexpensive open top motoring!

Cons: K series engine, make sure you get the head gasket upgraded.

Japan Cup Mg F — Originally built with a 1.8i, this car was converted to VVC spec when it was r-imported into the UK. The handling of this car around corners is brilliant compared to a standard MGF. Due to being built to race specifications other modified MGFs can outperform it it a straight line and outbrake it into corners.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Handling around corners

Cons: Nothing

Best Car I've Owned And Ive Had Quite A Few!! — Great performance (even with it's current engine prolems) Handles like a more expensive sports car dose. Corners like it's on rails

Pros: Soft top ideal in summer
Only 2 seats (no room for the kids, lol)

Cons: VVC K series engine is prone to head gasket failures, though this can be resolved with the rangerover multi-lyer headgasket.

Only 2 seats (no room for xtra mates)

Mgf Or Mazda? British All The Way — it is just what i wanted a 2 seat british sports car,not practicle but fun,it ticks all the right boxes, but without the headaches of the older cars sourcing spares, and finding the right mechanic who knows the cars even though we know 2 in bruno and mark not as common as the mx5,and better looking than 1 as well

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: a truly fun car

Cons: it took 10 years for me to get 1

Good Car, But I Prefer Mgfs By Ralph

The handling on the TFs is not as good as the hydragas system used on the Fs. However, this being an 05MY car, it has the improved set up that is better than earlier TFs. The other advantage of 05M... Read More
