I'm A Ford Girl. — has a good motor and tranny, nice to look at, can tow anything although sometimes has trouble on hills. Bad on gas but rides nice and is awesome in the mud - can get out of anything in 4WD Lo. The seats aren't the most comfy but i love sitting up high and being able to see all around me. Fun to drive - takes off fast at lights!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Looks cool, good power.

Cons: Gas guzzler.

First On Race Day? — Quality is good, less rattles than the Blazer. however, has lots of rot on rocker panels 4.6L is decent on performance, better with exhaust and intake upgrades, poor gas mileage though Yes, pretty fun to drive other than the truck is pretty large Cost of ownership so far is low, over 2 year time span

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: hauling capability

Cons: gas mileage

Dont Really Know What Ford Was Thinking With This Style — The preformance is great for towing with the small 4.6L v-8 Ford stuck in it. Acceleration and braking have some lacking. Its a ford so repairs are few and far between. I DO NOT like the contour styling of this generation. Thats why this is my womans truck. I drive a monte carlo (at least until I find a good mustang or f-150 with a 5.0 v-8), if that says anything about this style and motor. Gas mileage is pretty good we are getting 22-26mpg. I hate driving this thing but for some reason my woman loves it.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: my woman likes it

Cons: styling, 4.6 v-8

It Is A Good Truck To Start With But Would Like To Move On To A Bigger Truck — for a 97 this truck is sound...body is in immaculate condition....this truck acclerates very fast, very easy to squeal the tires or pull posies if you want to...i would like a better stock radio but this is very loud...and for me the insurance is relatively cheap

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: every day driver around town or a good hauling work truck

Cons: if you get the v8 like mine the gas mileage is not the best

My F-150 9wrecked, But Now Fixed) — I like it, I got it and it had been sitin for about 2 years, it was in an accident. We got a new battery for it and it fired right up. The body work was already done, it just ran ruff cause of old gas and the injectors we a little clogged, but now its startin to smooth out.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: ITs sturdy and it runs great!

Cons: It need new air bags cause it was in an accident lol!

Truck Built For People That Need A Truck — The truck rides exactly like one. It is built like a truck, so not much care for quality to speak of. It is very cheap to maintain and insure, which is a plus, but the fuel mileage from the 5.4L Triton V8 is a gas-hog.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: if you need a truck

Cons: if you dont need a truck

Like It. — It's ok. I like the fact that it's large and people get out of my way. The only problem is it used to be a work truck and it's sort of beaten to hell. I like to think of it as a project though.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Size

Cons: Needs some suspension work.

1997 Ford F-150 — Truck has a 4.6L (289 c.i.) V-8. Very solid and reliable engine. Lots of power for the size of the motor. About 210-220 h.p. and about 300 lb. ft. torque. Motor has a real nice grunt... Averaging about 15 mpg but on the highway it gets around 18-20. Does have a K&N short ram air intake. One thing for sure is you can never go wrong with this piece of American Machinery. Real solid truck!!!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: The power is there when you need it

Cons: Cheap plastic dash on drivers side has a crack right down the middle

Idk? Lol — I has great acceleration and can climb to 90 pretty smokin fast for being 12 years old and being all stock. It needs a new paint job and back cover for less air resistance. Interior leather is still nice and in good condition despite a tear on the passenger seat. Roof is tearing everywhere due to Texas weather but all in all its really nice. It still runs pretty smooth and can take a turn really well for a truck. Gas mileage is about 15-17 mpg but puts out some serious torque. Its a v8 4.7 liter engine tuned for alil more acceleration. It burns rubber real easily which can be annoying when you don't want to but can provide for fun times.

Pros: (read the review!)

Cons: Its a truck! It can flip real easily.
