This Was A Great Car, Though With One Major Flaw... — My Regal GS made it to 218,000 miles with hardly a repair in its history. It was the ultimate in reliability...until a fire broke out in the engine bay (note: four years later, they have recalled these cars and the Grand Prix for just this problem). Still, I give the car high ratings because it got me where I needed to go without nickel-and-diming me to death.

Pros: Great drivetrain, pretty stylish, comfortable, and fun to drive.

Cons: The fire, obviously, but not much beyond that.

A Buick That Doesn't Scream "look At Me I'm 70 Years Old!" — One of the best Buicks to come off the lot in at least 10 years! It's the first year of the last body style for the Regal. 3.8L V6 engine (3800 series II), 195bhp, Gran Touring Suspension, All-around disc brakes, leather interior, high practicality. This is not a Buick for an old person! If you think it's probably like it's sister the Century, it isn't.

Pros: One of the best GM engines, good handling, great highway gas mileage, loads of trunk space.

Cons: Retracting windshield wipers, some parts are pretty inaccessible.

Test Drive Of The Buick Regal Gs 6 Speed Manual By Ilregal

I frankly didn't like anything about this Regal. It's not a Regal in the sense of the name. It is a Opel made for the U.S. and named the Regal GS. The Euro version with the actual Opel insignia on it... Read More
