Great Car. — It's a great car, easy to build on, fast. Only down side are the little things that go wrong, and once you upgrade the performance substantially, larger problems ensue. It's a great car to drive, and is alot faster than most expect. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Turbo Cons: Tranny ![]() Looking for a Used 850 in your area?CarGurus has 6 nationwide 850 listings and the tools to find you a great deal. |

Definately Worth The Money As They Are Available For Well Under A Thousand Pounds..even The T5 — Bought this car last october, has the 10V 5 pot 2.0 with 124BHP(ish) and i love the engine note, love the interior, the practicality, comfort, safety. Not so keen on the layout of the dash [some switches are hidden from view by the wheel](though i do prefer it to the phase one S/V70) Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Engine note from the I5 Cons: A few niggles that are very common (Horn, tailgate dampers, tailgate trim, seat heaters) suffering with age |

Nutter In A Suit,a Right Scream — getting past the looks which arent its strongest asset it goes well third gear pull is something else, brakes could be sharper, handlings a bit off the pace, more suited to blasting up and down the motorway as its very comfortable, build qualitys ok,its had the odd oil leak, tyres lasted 5000mls,brake pads lasted 3000,having said that i really do drive it like i stole it,it will wheelspin in 3rd gear doin 60mph in the wet if your really trying.the looks arent too bad although the boxy theme is continued on the inside, the blue interior to match the outside just looks naff.i have been impressed with its mpg averiging around 24mpg,overall im pleased with the car,i wouldnt hesitate to buy another driving it like you stole it its fun to drive Pros: straight line punch, discreet looks Cons: interior naff, looks handling |

'96 850 Turbo — It gets great mileage even when you put your foot to the floor. The build of the car is quite well since it is 12+ years old and still looks and drives brand new. Appearance to some may be a box but it is one of the safest cars in the world. The cost of ownership in the beginning was high but if you get the main issues completed early you won't have much to worry about. Main issue is timing belt and associated parts, since they can including labor run you around $1700. Fun factor is pretty high up there since you have a car that looks inconspicuous but can still do at least 130 mph stock. Pros: Fun to drive, Resonable gas mileage, Sporty, Very safe and reliable, Easy to work on Cons: Overall cost of ownership |

413,000kms And Still Going! — I love the pearl paint! The tail gate rattle is not very fun. But driving the car is just enjoyable every time I get in it. The options excellent. The nivomat rear suspension is really nice when hauling a heavy load. The cars turbo motor is amazing. The fuel mileage is great as long as you stay out of the turbo boost. I would buy another one if I saw one. Pros: Its a Volvo!!! Cons: Tailgate rattle |

Volvo, The Tank — Bought car used and abused (unfortunately) put new spark plugs and K&N air filter in it. runs much much better. suprisingly quick for it's weight and power. built like a tank (Volvo of course) exteriors fair, some body work is gonna need to be done. especially some nice wheels good gas mileage (went to Callahan and back on about 3-4 gallons) i like driving it, seeing as it's a 5-speed manual bought it for approx 1600 w/ 112,000 mls Pros: 5-speed manual, 5-cylinder Cons: engine is in poor condition |

My Baby — I love this car!!! Classic, has personality, awesome interior......and it's mine of course. It accelerates great and can be set for sport or econ. sport has a kick and is fun to drive but I like to save as much money on gas so I keep it on econ usually. Since it's an older car I've had to take it in a few times but nothing to bad. The breaks are a bit squeaky when you don't keep the car clean but that's the personality that I mentioned. I'm the only one who can brake without it screaming. Exterior is a regal boxier shape but it pulls it off with a great black color. Interior is fantastic! leather interior with a great sound system. The cost is normal and I have no problems with gas mileage. I love driving this car! I roll all five windows "sunroof included" and drive, and drive, and drive. Pros: everything about it Cons: squeaky brakes if you arn't familier with the car. |

Volvos Kick Ass — Handles well, incredible on hwy, and accelerates past any traffic in a heartbeat. Gas mileage is about 10L/100km in city and around 7.5L/100km hwy. Even when doing 140km/hr, on the flats, it maintains this mileage. Totally recommend having a turbo on a car - ads to safety when passing on Canadian hwys. No major repairs - just regular maintenance. Over 220,000 kms and still pulling strong as ever. Pros: fast, reliable and amazingly comfortable on long drives Cons: heavy car, and internal controls could be better. |

Boxy But Good, And Reliable — Only things I have to do to this car have been: New battery (replace old battery) New brakes (replace old brakes) New tires (replace old tires) Oil Change New alternator New Windshield Wipers Other than that NOTHING else, not back for a twelve year old car no? -post pictures later :) - Pros: Volvo, its sturdy and extremely well built. Decent engine, enough to get you onto the highway, and the fact my Volvo came with a third market muffler (despite what my dad believes). The engine has a rather nice hum to it, though nothing that screams "I need attention" Cons: Heavy car a decently powerful engine, means that you're going to be paying a lot in gas. My car roughly pulls twenty miles per gallon, and that won't cut it anymore. |
