If Two Seats Are All You Need, This Is A Fun Bargain To Drive — If you don't need more than two seats this is a truly fun car. I had the R model, so the ride was firm, bordering on harsh. But it was a good trade off. The top is one other makers should copy for it's simplicity and ease of use. The so called tonneau cover was a pain but you should use it to protect the top from the sun. If you live where it is cold, consider getting the hard top with the rear defroster. You will be more comfortable.

Pros: convertible.  handling, super reliable and easy to maintain

Cons: weak engine, small trunk, only two seats.

Stunning Car — Corners like a sports car should, so well balanced it will keep you out of trouble as a beginner and also still reward the more experienced driver. So much grip that I've stopped in the space of half a mini roundabout from 30mph! Wheel geometry is fully adjustable on all MX-5's so you can tune the handling to suit. Mine has done 114,000 miles and still revs and goes like a new car.

Pros: Sweet little 1.8 engine and close ratio gearbox give acceleration at any speed with the right choice of gear. Ride is not bad and seats are comfortable. God like handling.

Cons: Only a 1.8, could easily deal with more power. Security worries with any soft top. Short gears mean it's noisy on the motorway.

The Best Summer Fun You Could Have For £5000!!! — I'v had one of these for 2 years now and i'm still not bored. It's cheep to run, never goes wrong and goes into any corner at any speed!! Haven't got a picture of mine at the mo so had to use this random one! Will put more pics up asap.

Pros: Fun, Fun, Fun.

Cons: Not enough sunny days in North Yorkshire! Could really do with a bit bigger engine!! Next stop Honda s2000!

Controlled Oversteer — Fun car to drive, especially in the summer. Mediocre acceleration but amazing handling and braking. Drifter.

Pros: RWD and a manual transmission. What more can I say?

Cons: Not enough power for a sports car.

The Most Fun Car I've Ever Owned — This is the last pure sports car left in the world. It has the charm and feel of the old British roadsters of the 1960s, but none of the drawbacks. It has one of the silkiest gearboxes I've ever used, and the Torsen limited slip differential is solid and easily controllable. It even handles well in the snow. It's suspension is firm, yet comfortable. You can hold the engine at redline all day, it will only hurt the fuel economy. Easily one of the best cars in history.

Pros: It's reliable, and LOVES to be revved, the only sports car I know of that can run PERFECTLY FINE on 87 octane, and it's lightweight!  Nice gearbox

Cons: Fuel economy sucks compared to other 1.8L engines, the AIRBAG light flashes (this is a problem on all 1994-97 Miatas), oh, and there IS NO SPACE WHATSOEVER.  I tried to bring a Marshal AVT50 amplifier home with it...  not gonna happen.
