1996 Mazda 626 ES V6Review

I Like It. — Good car for $1500. Drives really nice and the power is good. It'l rev to almost 8000rpm and sounds amazing doing so! Everything works like new and the sunroof is nice to have on hot days. The brakes are very good, they do fade after a few emergence stops but the ABS works really well getting it from 100km/h to 0km/h in about 110 feet with good tires. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: The interior, sunroof, ABS, electric windows and the V6 engine. Cons: The engines stuffed. ![]() Looking for a Used 626 in your area?CarGurus has 14 nationwide 626 listings and the tools to find you a great deal. |

What Mid 90's Mid Sized Car Should Be. — Overall one of the best cars I owned, 5 speed manual gave you power on downshifts, handled really well, cheap to own, burned very little gas, was good on the road, city too. Fun to drive, plenty of room and rode great, the Goodyear Eagle GT's were a perfect fit for it. Clutch lasted 160K. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Perfect city car. Cons: It had a nagging check engine light that was super sensitive. |

Good Buy! — Performance is quite okey. Good quality! The looks is okey, not ugly, not a Ferrari. Average looking. MPG/KMPL is rather good. But spare parts are quite expensive, at least here in Sweden. Fun factor? Well, no, but neither is it dull. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Easy going automobile! Cons: Price of spare parts. |

Its An Everyday Car, It Will Last You A Good While. — This car has 115xxx miles on it. The care is pretty fun, its a lil beast. But it isn't a ferrari or anything. It has a 5 speed transmission. The car does handle, but it has a small amount of understeer. I love this car. It runs like a champ. It is pretty gas efficient. Its not a beautiful car. nor does it have the performance. but it is most defiantly a everyday car! Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Its a fun car! Cons: Its olddddddd |

Stick Shift Is Hella Fun — its really fuel efficient and fun to drive in the snow, but its not as fast as i'd like it to be and its not really the coolest looking car ever but it gets the job done. ps- stick shift rocks! Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: hand braking is fun in the snow Cons: its lame. |

Decent Car If It Is Stick, But Wouldn't Recommend Buying It In Auto Trans. — My old mazda had a major problem with the transaxle that caused the gear ratios to go out of sync and make the overdrive off light blink and not shift gears, usually when I was driving on the highway at around 70 mph. The acceleration wasn't terrible for a small 4 cylinder, but i often wished it was a manual trans because then I wouldn't have had the problem with the gearing. Otherwise, it was a decent first car that got decent gas mileage and handled great, but that was about it. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Good fuel mileage, great handling Cons: Transaxle problems |

184k Mile Mazda 626 — My 1996 Mazda 626 (manual trans.) has 184,000 miles on it and is still running. Although I've had to get some repairs done, it's been a pretty good car for the 5 years that I've had it. Not crazy about the way it looks, though (too rounded). But the interior's pretty nice for a 12 year old car. Pros: Good basic car. Cons: Plain. |

62sucks — Well... it's a step up from my '91 Corsica, but a short one. Power is considerably lacking for a V6 and it's a crash recovery. It's a very poor repair job, and I had to put graphics on it to hide the ugly body work. It does have working a/c (something I've missed) and it's more fuel efficient than my last car, but it still sucks. Never should have sold the GTO Pros: It's paid for Cons: Poor body work and low performance |

My First Car The Only One On The Lot That I Fell In Love With. — I put over 200,000 miles on this car and it still was in good condition till it was totaled by a drunk driver. Pros: Excellent car, what else can I say Cons: parts were on the high side and there wasn't much room to work. |
