Write a reviewThe 2001 Mazda 626 only saw a few changes for the model year, including an upgraded sound system, an interior trunk release, and a cleaner engine.
The 2001 Mazda 626 was available in four times: the LX, the LX V6, the ES, and the ES V6. The LX was the midrange model. Upgrading to the ES gets a power moon roof, leather interior, and a six-way power driver’s seat. The base engine was a 2.0-liter, 130 horsepower four cylinder, and the V6 had 2.5 liters and 170 horsepower. Fuel economy is 22/28 for the four cylinder and 20/26 for the V6.
Many drivers find the 2001626 to be a fun, good-looking alternative to more popular sedans like the Camry and the Accord. Fans say it handles well and gets good gas mileage. Many complain about an excessive amount of road noise, and some say the four cylinder isn’t powerful enough.

Still kickin' at 120,000+ miles and EVERYTHING STILL WORKS
Tinted all around
2" Cat back purrs nicely
12"' sub
Pretty cheap to maintain
Lots of parts interchangeable with other mazdas/ fords

Was an okay car. Had a weird shift issue when in extreme cold that they could never figure out. Was a good transitional vehicle. (Do I have f o u r t y w o r d s 4 U now ? ).

The acceleration is very smooth. Sometimes the breaks are a bit hesitant and the handling is great. The only repairs it has needed are the tires and oil change. The interior and exterior and perfect. Gas mileage is great! I love driving my car! Jul 21, 2009

Nice interior, fully loaded for the model year. Great fit
and finished. Lots of body roll, had lots of power,
great breaking, it was a great highway car. The car
could have a lot more nimble and it would have been

Build Quality: Have to say it is pretty strong after a previous wreck 4 months ago when a Transfer truck hit us spinning us around 3 times and hitting the guard rail at a speed of 65 miles per hour. Pretty scary but pretty darn lucky I would have to say! Aug 15, 2008

This car has good braking and handling. The gas mileage is not bad (about 25-27 mpg). The car is very reliable, and is built well. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a lot of speed.Mar 16, 2008
