Excellent Roadster — A brilliant cheap 2 seater sports car. The handling is second to none in its price range. I drove over 150,000 miles in this car in the space of 4 years. Over this period it averaged 38mpg! The only real problems that I had was a failed water pump and a cam belt that slipped because the garage didn't replace the tensioner on either of the occasions when the cam belt was replaced.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Cheap, open-top motoring with superb handling and sensible performance.

Cons: Nothing, really.

Fun, Cheap Summer Fun, But Not A Serious Drivers Car. — My only ever out and out sports car. A nice, easy to frive 2seat roadster. Mid engine RWD made it a bit of a handful in snow and the wet. At it's best on twisting A and B roads. Not especially fast in overall speed, but more than capable of putting a smile on your face. A fun car with the roof down.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Roof down motoring during the summer

Cons: Hairdresser image. Very girlie

Most Fun On Four Wheels For The Money — The mgf is a icon of british moterin despite poor build. Most marts can be found on the rover metro and other small rovers. As for the engine it is one of rovers most popular even though they are extreamly tempramental. So all in all not the best built car ever BUT you can't help but love it. She handels like she's on rails and is by no means under powered. So the mgf is the perfect example of fun over practicallity.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: fun

Cons: bit of a money pit

Mgf 1.8i Vvc 1998 — The performance is excellent, very fast, its so light so its like driving a go kart. Rear wheel drive, mid engined 1.8 variable control valve k series engine. Lowerd suspension for hold in corners, basic interior to keep the weight down, side air intakes, twin exhaust, 15" vvc wheels with maxxis low profile tyres.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Performance

Cons: Build Quality and Headgasket

Good Car, But I Prefer Mgfs By Ralph

The handling on the TFs is not as good as the hydragas system used on the Fs. However, this being an 05MY car, it has the improved set up that is better than earlier TFs. The other advantage of 05M... Read More
