A Stunning Reliable Vehicle — I bought my first 190e new in 1993. It has now done 298,000km and is still going strong! I also had a second one which I sold at over 450,000km.

Pros: Solid build, ageless, over-engineered design

Cons: Aluminium head has a tendency to corrode. Soft rear end, almost no back leg room!

Daily Driver - Nazi Staff Car — We bought this used in 1998 to replace Judy's Sable for about $22,000 with 30,000 miles on it. It is Silver with a cream interior. It's the straight 6 2.6L with Auto Trans. Pretty decent power (154 HP) but I have never put the throttle down on this thing for any length of time. It has had problems to the tune of about $3000 so far(we only have only put about 50,000 miles on it in 10 years). The AIR is gone and only the speakers on the left work??? Have also had two problems with the power windows.

    Pros: Good looks.  Adequate power

    Cons: Reliability

It's A Fun Little Econo Car That Is Fun To Drive!!! — If someone were to get one... i suggest that they be prepared to pay for the high maintenance costs...

    Pros: It's a Mercedes-Benz...

Cons: It was incredibly expensive to maintain...

Solid Car — Built like a tank and weighed like one too so affected braking, handling and acceleration.

    Pros: Solid

    Cons: Heavy

The 1993 Limited Edition 190e 2.6 - The 6 Cylinder Cosworth? — Mercedes 190e fans know about the 4 cylinder 2.3-16v Cosworth variant that was imported to the USA in 1986 and 1987. About 2250 were available; Few have ever seen the 1993 Limited Edition 190e 2.6, of which only 700 in Black were offered. Often mistaken for a base Sportline, the Limited Edition featured the Cosworth-type suspension, springs and steering gear with fatter 205 tires and special alloys. The Cosworth 4 place Recaro interior also transferred over, this time in black and red leather with carbon fiber dash trim with a smaller diameter steering wheel. The automatic shifter features a SportLine logo, but all rear trunk badging was deleted by the factory. The car sits noticeably lower than standard versions. The handling is absolutely extraordinary in this rarest of all 190e's.....I'm currently doing a full restoration on this one previous owner 45k miles classic.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: The most rare 190e produced; 1 of 700; Mercedes Bank-Vault solid; Amazing handling with Cosworth suspension/steering.

Cons: Extreme limited production makes exclusive parts difficult to find.
