To The Power Of Vtec... —

VTEC. Those four letters have stood for something very important to everyone from young tuner-heads with too much testosterone and a thirst for adrenaline to the junkies who create these machines at Honda. It means 7,200rpms of rev-happy, clutch smoking fun. The D16Z6 in my particular del Sol was a custom built engine and came out of a civic in Japan with just over 8,000 miles on it. It was thrown into this chassis with a rebuilt transmission and a stage 2 clutch to put the fury to the pavement. Along with Neuspeed lowering springs, KYB shocks, Skunk2 Camber Adjustable control arms, a Corksport rear tie bar and a little bit of custom interior work, it is now a pocket rocket capable of handling some of San Diego's gnarliest roads. However, this car does without quite a few of the usual amenities, including air conditioning, more than one air bag, anti-lock brakes, or a stereo. So your ride will be hot, rough, and not very safe if you are a butter fingered driver. Wrestling the steering wheel towards the general direction you'd like to go typically will get the driver around the corner whilst leaving a large trail of smoke from the howling front tires behind. Not very suited to long freeway journeys, as the ride, seating position, and lack of luxuries make it tough for anyone but the most hardcore petrolhead to stand it. However, my pocket rocket puts a smile on my face like no car I have ever owned could, and for now, that's enough.

Pros: VTEC power and excitement, positive clutch engagement, makes mincemeat out of the corners, great for when the weather is nice

Cons: Squeaks, Rattles, Clangs, No A/C, No Radio, No ABS, One Air Bag, Everyone's headlights are right in your rearview...etc

Del Sol — doesn't accelerate very fast but brakes and handles really well. hasnt had any problems and not much repairs. very clean looking interior thats plain but simple and exterior is unique and nice. gas is great and little maintenance is needed. it is always very fun to drive especially making turns.

Pros: handling, looks, gas efficient

Cons: 2 seats gets annoying at times

A Honda "of The Sun" — *Performance - Very nice handling, decent acceleration for engine size, strong brakes *Quality - it's a honda :) they run forever. but recently has needed a few repairs. but what do you expect at 284,000 miles? *Appearance - very stylish car with nice green color. interior is nice *cost - gas mileage is amazing. averaging between 35-39 most of the time, maintenance is low. parts are cheap *fun factor - 10! fun to drive whether it be on the highway or on the back roads. and summertime is where it's at! Convertible! :D *Definitely would recommend to a friend!

Pros: Convertible, handles great. and great gas mileage

Cons: hmm...only two seats. so can only drive one other person around. but oh well

1993 Honda Del Sol — Fun car which is easily customizable but one of the worst honda ever built. Very good acceleration and braking, along with handling. It needs repairs on the body, which is common with most all del sols. I have topped out at about 120, but could have pushed it a bit more. Not bad for a 4 cylinder, lol.

Pros: Fast, good Handle, Fun

Cons: Body Rot hard to keep up with.

One Of A Kind, Head Turner Tuner, Only A 2 Seater So Always A Light Ride ;) — Always wanted this car, have it for 7 months and love it. Having the top down is nice and gets the heads turning more than ever. Looks beast but is a sleeper.

Pros: Physical looks, great on gas, plenty of space in the trunk.

Cons: No space to store stuff or move big things, loud vehicle and wish top was electronic.

This Was The Perfect First Car For Me. — This is just about the cutest car I've ever seen. It's tiny and fun to drive. Mine was old and had a few problems, but I loved it to no end.

Pros: Cute. Tiny. Convertible.

Cons: Leaked. Loud.

Fast Car, Great When The Weathers Nice — wicked little car. once the vtec engine kicks in hold on to the steering wheel cause your in for some speed. great when the weather is nice, you can take the roof out an it hides away in the boot.

Pros: vtec engine, jap reliability

Cons: squeaky roof, probably down to the rubbers being old

Nice... Easy To Drive. — The one driven had a lot of work done to it... exhaust, header, intake, ignition, and head work. It was decently fast.

Pros: Easy to manuever and drive. Fun.

Cons: Not a V8.

Semi-topless Fun — Fun car to drive. I had fun putting in a powerful stereo and driving this year round in Calgary.

Pros: Fun to drive, good looking. Reliable. Great all year round. Awesome drivers compartment. The seats were awesome. Power rear window. Removable hardtop that fit in the ample trunk.

Cons: Based on a CIVIC. MOAR POWAR! Understeer. Soft suspension.
