New trim and car configuration options top the list of changes for the 1992 Audi 100. Previously only available in a four-door sedan, in either front-wheel drive or the AWD quattro, in 1992 the Audi 100 offered three trim level sedans. The base STD, the 100S and CS, and CS AWD quattro sedan all came with standard 5-speed manual transmission. New in 1992 was a CS quattro wagon with 4-speed automatic. It represented a milestone for Audi in that it was the first quattro vehicle to come standard with an auto tran. All trims got an engine upgrade to a 2.8-liter, 172-hp V6 engine, which replaced the 5-cylinder 2.3-liter.
Though just the base model, the STD came with many standard features. The S and CS built upon those and added more comforts, such as fog lights, center console, power adjustable front seats (with memory in the CS), leather seats, a trip computer, a ski bag, and keyless entry. The interior luxury translated to exterior luxury as well, with an aerodynamically rounded profile that seemed both modern and classic.
There are many things to like about the 1992 Audi 100, and drivers point to its durability, solidity on the road, and light handling as giving them confidence behind the wheel. The roomy interior and comfortable seats add to the driving pleasure. A big highlight is how quiet the Audi 100 is, with virtually no engine noise, rattle, or squeaks, and limited road noise. The biggest negative for the Audi is how expensive it is to maintain and repair.

Ok.. This is a 2.8 liter 12 valve v6 engine with 174 bhp, the car has the famous quattro 4WD system, and because of that, it handles great. The system is also extremely good on snow and ice, in these almost two years i've had this car, it still manages to do everthing i use it for with ease. The only thing I'd like to improve is the performance of the engine. But technically everything is very solid and durable, and the repairs i've had done are mostly just caused by wear and tare. So far i've changed the clutch, transmission, brakepads and dampers. The appearance is pretty anonymous, exept for a very special light green color, and my taillights which are tinted completely black, and a big ''Fast and the Furious'' rear muffler. although the entire caris in really good shape concidering the age, and it's totally rust-free (Most of these are, the bodies where galvanized at the factory) One thing that isn't great about it is that it's not the most economic car you'll find.. Mine burns through 17.5 liters of gas in 100 km! (1,75 liter på mila) so gas milage isn't great, but cars cost money to use.. And I would say that tis car is close to maintenance free. And the fun factor, of the charts. especially in the winter on the snow, you can pull the most AMAZING drifts in it, and its easy!^^Aug 26, 2009

My best car ever...! I simple love this car, and everything about it. Extremely good build quality, low maintenance, timeless-style, good handling concidering the cars size...!
It´s not an expensive car to drive, concidering the lowmaintenace and overall quality of the car, handling and regidity... I can only recommend this car to others, allthough it´s getting rather old...
AUDI FOREVER...!!!!Oct 22, 2008

Fantastic car smooth to drive very very very fast to drive even for its size and not bad on fuelNov 25, 2007
After i noticed the puddles I tried to drive it to the car wash to get the water out and my engine died so i had it towed to a garage when I looked under the hood, on the back engine wall there was about four inches of water....what is wrong with my car:(
I have checked 2 x 30 amp fuses under bonnet, and dropped panel under steering rack(LHD) registered in spain.! is their a relay that might have stopped working and if so where is it situated ?? and any other suggestions please as I live in the canary isles and the weather is getting hotter !!
Car engine stops while driving..... Can hear the chattering of a relay...during this turning key to start position has no effect whatsoever.....wait few minutes...and it starts again. Seems like a relay issue...or is it maybe wiring. So far only happens at higher speeds....and roughly once every 10 minutes. Any ideas out there??
