Unsafe, And Not Enough Cargo Room...not Good For Anything... — The first thing you feel when you climb aboard this thing is how much body roll your weight caused. That gives you an idea of how soft and unresponsive the suspension is. Second, when you first start driving, and you test the brakes, it feels like they're barely there...like the master cylinder is always blown. Third, when you do step on the gas, the acceleration is sluggish, especially when 4wd is engaged. Even with 2wd, it takes a while for the car to really get going. And you must remember...once you do get going, it's pretty hard to stop. This is probably one of the most accident-prone vehicles ever made. The height makes rollovers an omnipresent danger, and the brakes make it necessary to anticipate each stop well in advance. A final straw is that the interior is made with some VERY cheap leather. It feels plasticky and fake. It sticks to your skin if there is any moisture present, and on hot days, the feel gets intolerable.

Pros: replacement parts are cheap...

Cons: almost everything

The Best Vehicle I Have Ever Owned — I had this Jeep for 15 years with almost no issues. We took it on all kinds of off road trails and racked up over 160K miles

Pros: indistructable

Cons: I sold it

Most Fun Car Ever — Great for off-roading. It has decent mileage and has great control. Also, the white paint-job is great for the AZ heat. MY brother installed a kicker subwoofer so the tunes are kickin.

Pros: 4WD.  Zippy.  Reliable.

Cons: Not the best mileage.  Not as sleek as posible.  A crack in the windshield

Fun Project Vehicle. — Drivetrain is solid, 4x4 dynamics are fun in the snow. ECM makes me angry, but thats mainly because Jeep forgot how the ECM responds to input, which means replacing parts is very often the only answer.

Pros: Solid design, decent fuel economy, very moddable.

Cons: Not enough manufacturer documentation

Amazing Offroad Capability — Was going to buy a YJ or TJ, but having kids, necessitated something with more room, never fails to amaze me what it is capable of!

Pros: Exceptional capability offroad

Cons: Gas mileage

Don't Drive On Ice — I have a love/hate relationship with this car. I went flying off the interstate at 70mph into a field during a snow storm. While I'm not at all pleased that this happened (and never would have in front wheel drive car) I am very pleased that this car did not roll and I was able to put it in 4wd low and drive out of the field. There was about 6 inches of play in the steering wheel and it is very easily stolen (it was stolen once from me but returned)

Pros: Somewhat reliable, good at 4wd at slow speeds

Cons: too much play in steering wheel, too much road noise

I'd Still Buy Another One But In Much Better Condition — Performance: it does everything it is supposed to do handling sucks but hey its an SUV they just don't handle good. Build Quality: it has some flaws for sure shock mounts are in a terrible location and the bolts if rusted are pretty much impossible to remove it they break off due to the fact they go into the inclosed frame/subframe simply a bad idea its had some minor issues mostly due to it hard life from its pervious owners who apparently like to go mudding alot and never washed it afterwards. I can't brag it up b/c it was in crappy shape when I got it. Appearance: new there nice looking SUVS mine had seen alot of abuse and wasn't a show vehicle. Cost of ownership: it was pretty cheap to own that 4.0L is my favorite jeep engine and I would never trade it for any other great power and reliability gas mileage I would say was around 18 MPG highway. Fun Factor: it was my favorite vehicle I have owned so far did everything good even a chick getter why i don't know. good memories would buy another one if the price was right.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: it ran great drove great decent on gas for a 4X4 didn't wear tires decent in mud even with street tires all around fun vehicle to own

Cons: it was a pile when I got it had numerious issues with electrical and mechanical eventually replaced several parts only to find the would again stop working. Rusty as hel never seen a jeep rust out so bad.
transfer case busted driving down the highway and it was not in 4 wheel drive not very impressed with the transfer cases in these

Good Relible 4x4 — This is a great 4x4! can put 5 people and gear in it and go any where you will wont to go. Mine has a 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires on it so that makes it a little easyer to get around off road. however it also takes away from gas milage. It does preform very well on rode to tho most people have it in there heads that jeeps are just roll overs waithing to happen that is not true they are very stable in corners.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Will go anywhere

Cons: not so good on gas

Value Ranked 1991 Isuzu Trooper 4 Dr LS 4WD SUV better.
"jeeps are popular and continue there are tons of them out there. its hard to come across these old troopers now a days. makes them more of appealing to me. they have close to the same look but trooper is more safari style and has more room and thats always a plus for me."

The V6 model had great power and quiet ride. Great style. The 4 cylinder was not powerful enough for me. The cargo area was too small for me so I am looking at the Grand Cherokee now instead . Read More
