1991 Audi 200 Overview
Taking what it learned from race-car technology and putting it into a midsize family sedan seems perfectly natural, especially if you're Audi. The 1991 Audi 200 is a turbocharged monster, quick off the line and delivering the fast and tight action of a sports car, while swathing passengers in luxurious, leather-seated comfort. The quattro AWD trims add all-wheel drive and more stable handling and traction, for extra confidence in tricky conditions.
Take your pick of either a sedan or wagon, in quattro trim they all feature a new 20-valve turbocharged 2.2-liter 5-cylinder engine that provides 217 hp and 228 ft-lbs of torque. The new quattro version was not only quicker in acceleration, it also offered plenty of low-end torque for a more relaxed drive. The non-quattro version (sometimes called the 200 "front track") used the 162-hp/177 ft-lbs of torque 10-valve engine of previous years.
The Audi 200 sedan came in front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive. For 1991 the wagon was quattro only and a very limited production car, with less than 300 imported to the U.S. Inside, the 200 offered plenty of space for five and a large trunk or seating for seven in the wagon. Stylishly lit dash controls and thoughtful features like a power/memory adjustable driver's seat, wood trim, a premier sound system, and leather upholstery carry you off into luxurious comfort.
While its gas mileage is only so-so, what drivers point out is how safe they feel in an Audi 200. Some that have been in accidents report coming out unscathed due to the Audi's solidity and sturdiness. Precise handling and turbo speed are big attractions, as is the long-lasting nature of this popular sedan. High cost for parts and repairs is an Audi trademark, and some owners complain about failures with the electrical and hydraulic systems.

techniwerke ahhhhh, best car I've ever had, purchased for $2000usd with 78k on the clock, now has 189k with perhaps $1000 invested for parts over 10 years. goes like hell, 5 speed in a luxury car!? will run down the highway at 120mph with hands off the wheel, ufo brakes will haul her down in a heartbeat, can sit in her seats for 12 hours without pain or discomfort. will buy every 91 I can find and drive them for the remainder of my life. occasionally feed her some ethanol, mileage goes down a bit but she loves it (people wonder for my sanity but the germans did a fine job with the ecu, it adapts to anything, never had a cough out of it at mixtures of gas to e85 of 80% down) 20valve motor doesn't use a drop of oil between changes, purrs like a raped kitten!

VIng1313 I bought one of these about 3-4 years ago & it's one of the fastest cars i've owned. Not super impressive to get to the top speed, but the top speed doesn't seem to end , lol. Had it up to 162 , so far & i still feel there's a bit of wiggle room left! Not too shabby for a 5 cylinder! Oh, Marcel , shoot me an email , cuz where i bought this one , he ALSO had an Advant too , in white! Same engine & in good shape too. (ving1313@yahoo.com) ....Enjoy ^ ^
