Cheap Gas Saver Without The Looks —

Mine is the base model and I bought it for $500 with 200,000 miles and have owned it for quite sometime now and it now has 230,000. The car is still in almost perfect condition! At one point it sat for almost 2 years, I went out and threw a new battery in it and it fired right up first crank! Even though it rides nice the suspension is pretty sloppy. Gas Mileage is great on it whether in town or on the highway. With the right winter studded tires the car charges through snow and ice pretty good during the winter. The car doesn't have a lot a power but it has enough passing power to pass some one with ease at any speed, just down shift and go. Enough power to pull out on the freeway with comfort and ease with no worries of slowing down traffic. I'm 6' ft and I fit in the front and back seat just fine with plenty of head room. It's a great car to have if you don't mind the plain old look of it. Great for a first car or if you want something cheap and great on gas to use as a daily driver. Easy to work on if you like doing things your self. Although I think mine is reaching the end of it's life, because now it seems like one little thing after another needs replacing. But I'll keep it and replace those parts till the motor gives out, because its a great little car!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great fuel mileage, suprisenly smooth ride, plenty of room, no visibilty issues, cheap and easy to repair, easy to drive

Cons: less than average looking, good amount of interior noise on highway, suspension is sloppy, a lot of play in the shifter

Amazingly Good Car, Way Ahead Of Its Time, Possibly Not A Great Family Car Though — Mazda 626 gt, has a sunroof, aircon, power windoww, adjustable suspension, great tourer or round town, has excellent economy and huge acceleration/power, handles superbly well, next to no body roll, way ahead of its time, very very good car, no huge maintenince issues, just keeps going and going, but I keep it well serviced and look after it. Boot space is surprisingly big, but its no commodore

Pros: Excellent wee car, has enough room for five people, Has an enormous amount of power, great handling, sunroof, air con, power windows, good visibility, very economical

Cons: Not a huge amount of room in the back seat if you are over 6 foot tall, very responsive clutch

An Ok Car — This was at the time of buying it - an ok car. Reliable, in dam good condition all round and actually nice to drive. It was the hatchback version. The only problem being you had to lift the dog in the boot. Some nice person drove into the back of me one day! Eventually increasing things going wrong and constant expense - decided to find something more reliable - hence the move to the Peugeot 405 estate

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: it was metallic blue and

Cons: as time went on expensive to maintain

Kick Me Again, Please! — This was a 1989 Mazda 626 Touring Turbo, which was one of the best cars I've owned. We lost it in a flood (actually, driving out of a flooded parking lot). To this day I wish we still owned this car. It was very quick, and the turbo boost came on like a kick to the back of the head. It was practically a toy dressed in a sensible car.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: TURBO POWER!

Cons: Weak cooling system

Economic And Fairly Spacious Ride. — I got it cheap, due to a missing exhaust system...the car was getting worn out...

Pros: Decent ride, relatively quick and stylish

Cons: a bit of rust.
