Pure Bliss — I was a big Miami Vice fan back in 89 so I set out to find an all white Mustang GT since I couldn't afford a white Testarossa. When this baby was brand new there weren't too many cars that could keep up. Back then the only real competition was the Corvette, Camaro IROC 5.7, and the Grand National.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: best bang for the buck back in 1989

Cons: None, I loved the car from day one

Great Looks, Everything Else Not Great. — I love the look and sound of the car, and it runs like it is brand new. Other than the few bugs I mentioned it is a great driver. But like every older mustang I have ever seen anyone own, there is always something to fix or tune up.

Pros: It looks, sounds, and runs great.

Cons: Needs some work to the front suspension, needs a new convertable top, needs work on the rear windows, needs rewired, and needs the driver seat reattatched.

This 1989 Ford Mustang 3rd Generation Is Great ! — The bright Red paint job is remarkable. Glitters like it is brand new. Good mileage. Buying a used car for $1,500 that is shiny Red and runs like it is brand new is a rare find. Almost as good at the 1957 Ford Thunderbird I owned when I was 16 in 1962. I paid $700 for that one. I would like to have both now ! But, I got a new Red 1989, 3rd generation LX model! I am retired now and just cruise in my Mustang.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I just bought this 24 year old car from original owner with 160,000 miles.  Maintained by dealer all these years from a lady who bought it new and sold it to me. Except for faded back seat due to the sun, this car looks and drives like new.  2.3 litre 4 cylinder good enough for me. I did put in a new CD stereo though.  My mechanic checked it out and said I was a lucky Baby Boomer.  Bright red and a real head turner.  I paid $1,500 for it and everything had been gone through: Interior like new, battery, clutch, engine tuned up, wiper blades new, heater core new!
5 speed manual trans.

Cons: I don't know if I would have picked an automatic version. When the trans goes, time to throw away the car. So I like the stick shift, cheap to replace.

I Always Have And Always Will Love Mustangs — I like that they are cheap and easy to upgrade and the gains can be awesome for the dollar. I hate how ford did their wiring in the 80's, impossible to trace, wires are very brittle, very little tune-ability when it comes to the ecu.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Fast as help

Cons: Old ford wiring

Too Fast For Your Own Good — Whats to say? Built in my garage, everything has been updated or changed out. Damn quick, rides like its on rails. Needs paintwork desperately. Soon to come in the future, once finances allow it, for now its a garage queen.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: speed and handling

Cons: gas mileage

Mustang — It's a cool car, and I get looks all the time. With the blower it's pretty quick but not super fast. Hasn't left me stranded anywhere yet, and it's fairly easy to work on, but I know Fords, and used to work at a dealer.

Pros: Supercharger

Cons: Gas mileage

Fox Body Original — Great car with the venerable 5.0L engine. Owed since 1991. Over 400,000 miles later it still starts on first crank. Modfications: 130w alternator (3rd gen), A/C runs R-134a. Gas Mileage: 25 HWY, 13 City. Performace: Quick off liine, smooth on Highway. Apperance: Needs paint on hood, headliner, upholstery repair. Otherwise no rust or corrosion

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great Car

Cons: Gas mileage in city.
