Overall:

Cheap Fun — Bought a white and silver CRX new in fall of 1984. Quick and fun to drive, easy to do parking brake and 'J' turns or moving 360's in the snow. Great mileage...unleaded gas...fiberglass fenders...room in the back for lots of junk and a dog. Traded it in on new '91 Interga and got almost half of the $9,5000 I paid for it. Only had to put tires brakes and exhaust on it.

Owner for 6 years, 9 months

Miles Driven per Year:20,000

Pros: Mileage, Fun to drive, Looks.

Cons: Low power, skinny tires.

1985 Honda Civic Wagon 4WD Review
MirDylan says:
I love this car. Yes, she doesnt have much power for passing or going uphill quickly. But she seriously makes up for it with the 4wd. I live in the mountains and this car has gotten me through two pretty rough winters as my only vehicle. Literally my only limitation with her is my undercarriage clearance. Shes older than my two previous civics but somehow has held together better than either. The back folds in to a large cargo area, or folded the other way turns in to a very comfortable sleeping area. The gas mileage is phenomenal. I would never recommend letting this car go.

Cargo Capacity Ranked 1996 Honda Civic DX Hatchback worse.
"The 85 honda civic has fully collapsable and removable rear seats. Ive consistently used her for hauling large loads. Camped in the back as well as set up a lg dog kennel when traveling with my pitbull. "
Would Buy Ranked 1996 Honda Civic DX Hatchback worse.
"The 85 is a 4wd all around great car. Good for camping, commuting, hauling, and great in snow conditions. The only real draw back is finding parts when working on her simple because she is so old. "
