Its Dead Sexy And Its Not A Ricer — My 1980 Chevrolet Camaro is sexy thanx to mine and Bradys restoration job and my engine and transmission overhaul just needs the interior done and some extra necessary mods ;) yes because all mods are necessary like a 6 speed tranny, supercharger, 411 posi differential, 5 spoke aftermarket wheels and finished exhaust just off the top of my head Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: lots of power and lots of looks Cons: interiors not finished |

Gunna Rip — The stock 350 is only 190 horses and that pushing a 3660 lb car doesn't come out to great performance. About 16 seconds flat in the quarter but I have a second 350 in it now which is supposed to be around 310 horses and the suspension is good and 350 block has serious potential. Working the engine now to displace 408 cubic inches and pump out about 600 horses naturally aspirated. I plan on putting nitrous either way but if I decide to supercharge it too I'm planning for 8 to 900+ horses. T56 tranny wit a dana 60 rear with 4.11 gears and a detroit locker. Koni shocks with 4 wheel slotted and vented discs around. Single driver's racaro racing seat with 4 point seat belt. Performance clutch, cut out exhaust, cat-back system for normal driving. It's going to be one mean Z28. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: power. should be able to wheelie Cons: cops/paint. it's yellow wit black pin stripping. see it a mile away |

I Miss My Camaro...! — This was my 1980 Camaro Berlinetta. I loved this car, and owned it for about four years (95-99). Performance was average for a vehicle with a gross weight of 3600 pounds. My Berlinetta had a Chevy 305 with a QuadraJet carb, and a 3.08 limited-slip rear end. Tires were 205/70-14, with wire wheel covers. The Camaro came with power windows and locks, A/C, cruise, tilt steering, and the relatively rare option of a Sky-Top power moonroof (which leaked like a sieve). The Berlinetta was the "luxo" version of the Camaro line and, as such, wasn't all that powerful, nor did it handle like a Z28. But it was wide and low, which gave it some decent handling. This car, for me, was mostly about having fun. It was for cruising through town, or flying down the highway with the windows and roof open. Build quality was ...meh. Typical late-70s GM: lots of squeaks, rattles, and panel-gaps. Rust was not a huge problem, but did rear its ugly head in the usual places (wheel wells, rocker panels). Maintenance was simple overall, and parts were cheap. The only problem part was the heater core, which is very nearly inaccessible under the passenger side of the dashboard. The mechanic I took it to said he never wanted to see my car again after having to replace the core! I didn't really care about gas mileage when I drove the Camaro; as I said, it was all about fun. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Good-looking 2nd gen model, moonroof, decent handling. Cons: Rusty, leaking moonroof, inefficient. |

Awesome — Very basic right now. Stock 305, well hell stock everything. Performance upgrades to be done are a Ford 9in rearend rear disc brake conversion, beef up the t-350 tranny and build a ground up 383 stroker motor. Overall very attractive car and fun to work with. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Power Cons: Some 3/4 frames could be dangerous |

Great Car If You Can Keep It On The Road, But Not A Daily Driver — Performance- It had a bit done, so it was quick enough for me. Build Quality- Well I know enough to keep an old car running, just have to put in the work. Appearance- You either love it or hate it. Cost of Ownership- It's an old car with a V8 and 4.10s, it's going to drain you pretty quick. Fun Factor- Hmm, 4-speed, 4.10s, hopped up 350, sounds like my idea of a fun car! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Hellaciously fun! Cons: It's expensive and if you're not a mechanic then you're going to be out of luck |

Solid Classic Car, Last Of The Breed. — Cool old classic muscle car. Fun to drive with heaps of power. Don't handle as well as modern cars but what do ya expect from a 29 year old muscle car. Built big and solid you just can't go wrong. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Fun old car to drive Cons: None |

1980 Z28 Camaro — Performance wise, the car is fast and takes off quick. Build Quality the car is a 1980 so it might needs a bit of minor work here and there but over all very good. It lookd great! And its very fun to drive!! Pros: Fast and good looking Cons: nothing :P |

1980 Camaro Z28 — I love the look of this car and especially the sound of the 5.7 litre V8. Shame it's an auto as I'd have preferred a manual but there aren't too many of them around. Being a left-hand drive car doesn't bother me, you get used to it. Performance - OK but I didn't buy it for that. Build quality - alright, it's pretty tank-like. Appearance - It's what attracted me to these cars in the first place. Just take a look at the picture when it eventually lets me upload it. Cost of ownership - classic insurance is cheap but fuel costs are astronomical. Fun factor - hell yeah! I absolutely love it. Pros: looks awesome, sounds awesome Cons: drinks petrol |
