1979 Volkswagen PoloReview
1979 Vw Polo Gls (1300cc Conversion) — I loved this car! I swapped the tired 1100cc motor for a 1300 Golf lump which resulted in quite perky performance. Bought the car as a skint student for £45 and ended up running it for years, touring the length and breadth of the UK on a shoestring.
Pros: Reliable, budget motoring.
Cons: They all eventually rotted away.
