Amazing — My dad and I bought one and restored it, by the time we were done we had over 500 hp pumping out of that beast. We tried to race it once and as soon as the front end went up in the air, and I could no longer see the ground, I was done. The thing was amazing though, sold it for a bit over $50,000.

Pros: Speed, miles of black paint, that hemi growl.

    Cons: WAAAY too much torque.

He Was My "puppy" — Loved the feeling of security most, but the low rumble was great too! But most of all was the feeling I got when men made a Double-Take ' I dont look like I would be driving a "HOT-ROD", and when the females frowns, when they realized the driver was an OLD LADY !!!

Pros: He had a definite personality, and had EXCELLENT Go-Power from a dead stop!

Cons: My ex-husband caused it to be seized by the law......There WAS NO getting it back either.

Kick Myself Everyday For Getting Rid Of It. :( — This thing had a 550hp 440 magnum. It would pull the front tires off the ground.

Pros: Fast, fast, fast...... and sexy too.

    Cons: It weighed a ton.

Cha Ching! Lol — My dads first car. 1969 dodge charger R/T 440 four speed manual transmission. My grandpa bought this car for my dad when he was 15 years old. he sold it for five years and then bought it back in 1990 and put it back to the original factory condition with numbers matching from bumper to bumper. meaning it has the exact motor, transmission rearend and everything that came in that car.

Pros: Fast and its a stick!

    Cons: the headlights

Mopar Flagship — The Dukes of Hazzard had nothing to do with the appeal this car had. That stupid TV show didn't come out until the late 80's. This car was a classic by then. The one I owned is still talked about to this very day by guys who were just kids back then. The awesome power this beast had was unreal. I was spankin Camaros, Novas, GTOs, and these cars were all lighter in weight than my Dodge. I purchased it in 1973 and was truly in love with it the whole time I owned it. The color was very unique, it looked red in certain light and orange in others, black vinyl top, black interior with factory bucket seats. The motor was what was most shocking thing about this car. Everyone figured it had to be a Hemi the way it danced on the street (at least a 440 magnum) but, it was only a 383 magnum with 4bbl carb and 4 speed transmition. The original owner ordered it with the complete R/T package sans the motor but, I think that motor was hopped up with some Mopar goodies even before I got a hold of it. By the time I was finished with it I was turning serious low 12 ETs at the drag strip and this car was driven on the street every day. That Charger was my first automobile at 17yrs. old and believe me, I had to really learn to drive that thing and you can best believe I did and enjoyed every moment of it. Performance was excellent (although I did stain a few pairs of undewear trying to brake) how many other 17 yr.olds were able to own a piece of American nostalgia like that. If You Ever Get A Chance To Drive One Do It !! ... Own One ,buy It .. It Transcends Time And Space — the last time you saw an original '69 charger with a 383/4speed go through your town did you ignore it or watch it go by and say "i allways wanted one of those " .... best handling car I've ever owned and of course everybody likes it ... but it is a cop stopper ... and very expensive to maintain with original parts !!!! (don't wreck the front end you may never find a good ( I ) piece for the center of the grille . 3 grand for the last nos part # I considered myself very lucky with my find , bought from original owner and the car was 28 years old . It had high mileage 130,000 but was maintained pretty well . '69 chargers are still one of the best looking cars ever built . it got about 17 or 18 mpg on 93 octane amoco gold . I really wished it had the LONG THROW shifter , this was the first year for the factory hurst shifter and with it's double boot (floor and console ) , five bends and then mated to the A-833 new process trannny (18 spline with 11inch clutch ) it was a little balky to shft like a drag car . EXPENSIVE as hell to get into that clutch and pressure plate from chrysler ( 1,200.00)back in '98 . I settled for a rebuilt one from BREWERS in OHIO but they screwed me on the core exchange and gave me a pressure plate with white springs instead of the original green ones which are no longer made by anyone . yea the new 300.00 dollar clutch is not as good as the worn out one it replaced just because of the springs .... I drove it daily (stupid ) weather permitting for two years until it became a tragedy at a bad intersection with a car running a stop sign and i ditched to avoid collision , but the ditch was 8 ft deep .... at about 50 mph spinning backwards into it .... thats enough ... I still have it . it can and will be fixed ! BUT i'M AFRAID I MAY BE AN OLD MAN BY THEN !!

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Loved it ! so did zee women !!

Cons: water pump failures were frequent because of A/C and four speed .
most all mopars with 4 spd  never came with A/C . with A/C ,the underdrive pulley set was not available and it used a fan clutch with a 1.5 to one drive ratio to the water pump from the crank ... if you ever missed a gear &%#@!%$&( it would take out , the fan the radiator the fan clutch and the water pump , plus two gals of antifreeze ... 'bout 550.00 with rebuilt core in rad .
