Today The Us Nta Would Have Recalled This Car — 1. The B142B engines in this year's model blew up with regularity with 30-60K miles (pistons were too tight for cylinders - Volvo never acknowledged problem); 2. The vent and rear window hinges would disconnect from glass (factory glue problem), and the back window call flip out and break. 3. The factory A/C was expensive and never worked - it iced up with any humidity - on a 95F day in the US it would keep car a comfortable 91F. 4. I have bought 14 new cars since this one -- not one a Volvo.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Comfortable interior; good brakes; clean looking for that era

Cons: Engine; windows; A/C

1968 Volvo 142 Review

Classic — Old and reliable, does not make this quality anymore. Not a dream to drive, but it turns some heads when it is in good original condition. Easy to repair, parts still available and it has a... personality or something. 5stars.

Pros: Classic

Cons: Old
