The 2021 Jeep Renegade, introduced in 2015, was inspired by the iconic Wrangler SUV, featuring a boxy profile, circular headlights, and an upright seven-slat grille. It shared its underpinnings with the Jeep Compass, but its design was distinct, carrying over subtle refreshes from 2019. The Renegade's interior was modern and functional, with an upright center stack reminiscent of the Wrangler, offering easy access to controls. It came in various trims, including Sport, Jeepster, Latitude, Upland, 80th Anniversary, Islander, Limited, and Trailhawk, each with unique features and equipment.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer shared its frame and body shell with the standard Wagoneer, resembling the smaller 2021 Grand Cherokee L. It featured traditional SUV styling with a tall hood, broad shoulders, and trapezoidal wheel arches. The Grand Wagoneer distinguished itself with a standard black roof, model-specific hood, front fascia, and grille. Its interior boasted high-end materials and convenience features, including 24-way power front seats with memory, massage, lumbar support, and four-way power headrests. Nappa leather upholstery was standard, with higher-grade Palermo leather available, along with aluminum and American Walnut wood trim.

The 2021 Jeep Renegade offered a base 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. An upgraded turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine delivered 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. Both engines were paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, available in front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The Renegade's ride quality was solid, with impressive maneuverability in tight spaces and a terrain management system for various driving conditions. The Trailhawk trim, with its off-road capabilities, was the only trim with Jeep's "Trail Rated" designation.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer was powered by a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine, producing 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, with cylinder deactivation for improved fuel economy. It featured an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel drive. The Quadra-Drive II system included a two-speed transfer case and electronic limited-slip differential, along with Jeep's Selec-Terrain system. The Quadra-Lift air suspension system was standard, offering adjustable height for off-roading and improved aerodynamics. Despite its power, the Grand Wagoneer was best driven at a stately pace due to its size and weight.

The 2021 Jeep Renegade provided 50.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded and 18.5 cubic feet with them in use. Its tall, boxy design offered ample headroom in both rows, with great front legroom and suitable rear seating for adults. The Renegade featured various storage solutions, including a foldable front passenger seat for added space.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer seated seven with standard second-row captain's chairs or eight with an optional third-row bench seat. It offered more third-row headroom and second-row legroom than competitors like the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. With all three rows in place, it provided 27.4 cubic feet of cargo space, expanding to 70.9 cubic feet with the third row stowed. The Grand Wagoneer had a maximum towing capacity of 9,850 pounds, slightly less than the standard Wagoneer due to its extra weight.

The 2021 Jeep Renegade featured a standard 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with an optional 8.4-inch screen on higher trims. Both screens ran the intuitive Uconnect system, offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A Kenwood premium audio system was available.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer boasted a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with 3D graphics, dual touchscreens, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a McIntosh audio system. It supported simultaneous pairing for two Bluetooth-enabled phones and a 4G-LTE WiFi hotspot. Second-row passengers had a 10.25-inch center console touchscreen, with an optional rear-seat entertainment system. The Uconnect 5 system featured an Android-based operating system and over-the-air software updates.

For 2021, the Jeep Renegade made previously optional safety features standard, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-path detection. Adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and parking sensors were optional. The Renegade received a four-star crash test rating from the NHTSA.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer included standard safety features like a 360-degree camera system, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Optional features included a driver-attention monitor, night vision, and traffic-sign recognition.
