Reviews SummaryHeavily updated for the 2025 model year, the Enclave three-row crossover SUV enters 2026 unchanged. It shares a platform with the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, carving out its own niche with a greater emphasis on luxury and comfort than ruggedness and active-lifestyle pretensions. Verdict: The 2026 Buick Enclave finds a middle ground between standard three-row SUVs and their more expensive luxury-branded counterparts. While it's not particularly exciting to look at or drive, it gets the fundamentals right with a spacious cabin in all three rows, a large cargo capacity, high levels of comfort, and easy-to-use tech.
Reviews SummaryAutomakers have traditionally had a hard time making money on entry-level subcompact cars, because they have low profit margins, but America has largely moved away from cars to crossover SUVs—and higher prices. That allows car companies to offer an entry-level subcompact SUV for thousands more than a similar sedan or hatchback. Such is the case with the Hyundai Venue, which costs more than its predecessor, the subcompact Accent that was dropped after the 2022 model year. While the price is higher, the advantage for buyers is a vehicle that generally has more cargo space and is more practical. We recently drove the 2026 Hyundai Venue SEL w/2-Tone Roof (yes, that’s the trim level name) to find out if a subcompact crossover is a better buy than a cheaper subcompact car. Verdict: The Hyundai Venue sacrifices refinement for a price point that isn’t as low as a comparable subcompact car. We’d be tempted to spend a little more for a slightly larger compact car with more power, features, and refinement.

The 2026 Buick Enclave shared its underpinnings with the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, yet it distinguished itself with a unique personality. Its exterior featured graceful lines, a swooping hood, and narrow accent lights, creating a streamlined look for an SUV. The oversized grille, particularly in the Sport Touring trim with its glossy black finish, was a dominant feature. From the side and back, the Enclave's design was tidy and subtle, blending into traffic like a well-fitting gray suit. Inside, the Enclave offered a classy horizontal dashboard with a modern curved digital display. The materials were of higher quality than the Traverse, with more soft-touch surfaces. However, some driver ergonomics felt off due to the low dashboard placement, giving the impression of sitting too high. The Enclave's cabin was as appealing as the Acura MDX, surpassing the Lexus TX, and offered premium features in the top Avenir trim.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue, classified as a crossover SUV, resembled a tall hatchback with its compact design. It featured a high nose, lower headlights, and high-set daytime running lights, giving it an SUV-like appearance. The Venue's small size and narrow profile made it more suited for European streets. Inside, the Venue's design was simple and functional, with a digital instrument cluster and a small touchscreen that resembled an iPad. The interior was characterized by hard black plastic, with only a few soft-touch surfaces. The Venue's compact size and low weight contributed to its nimble handling, making it easy to maneuver in traffic and fit into tight parking spots. However, the Venue's performance was limited by its 1.6-liter engine, producing only 121 horsepower, and its lack of sound deadening made the cabin noisy.

The 2026 Buick Enclave was powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. It featured an eight-speed automatic transmission with standard front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive was optional. The Enclave accelerated to 60 mph in just over 7 seconds, but the transmission response felt dull, and the engine noise was loud when pushed hard. The brakes were predictable and easy to modulate, providing a smooth stop. The suspension prioritized ride quality over handling, smoothing out road bumps effectively. The top Avenir trim offered adaptive dampers for improved handling and comfort. The Enclave's cabin remained quiet at highway speeds, with only minor road noise on coarse surfaces. Despite its adequate power, the Enclave offered a respectable 5,000-pound towing capacity with an optional trailering package.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue's performance was modest, with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 121 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. It featured a continuously variable transmission (CVT) driving the front wheels. The Venue's 0-60 mph time ranged from 8.5 to 8.8 seconds, aided by its lightweight 2,738-pound frame. While peppy in city traffic, the Venue struggled at highway speeds, with the transmission slow to downshift for more power. The engine droned under heavy throttle, and the lack of sound deadening made the cabin noisy. The Venue's small size and low weight contributed to nimble handling, but the solid rear axle made the ride jiggly on rough roads.
The 2026 Buick Enclave offered second-row captain's chairs, limiting passenger capacity to seven but providing a central pathway to the third row. Taller passengers enjoyed ample space in the middle row, with raised seat cushions for a better view. The third-row seats accommodated adults up to five-foot-ten comfortably, though the lower seat cushions reduced thigh support. The Enclave's cargo capacity was impressive, with 22.9 cubic feet behind the third row, expandable to 97.5 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded. The Power package added power-folding third-row seatbacks and a hands-free power liftgate. The front seats provided ample storage, with a large center armrest bin and a giant tray under the center console.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue featured cloth and H-Tex seats with manual adjustments, offering comfort and a natural driving position. Headroom was plentiful, but legroom was limited for taller occupants. The rear seat accommodated average-sized adults, but taller passengers struggled for legroom. The rear seat folded flat in a 60/40 split, providing 31.9 cubic feet of cargo space, though space was limited with the seats up at 18.7 cubic feet. The Venue's interior was characterized by hard black plastic, with limited soft-touch surfaces. The rear cargo floor lifted to access the compact spare tire, revealing cost-cutting measures.
The 2026 Buick Enclave featured a 30-inch curved digital display housing the instrument panel and infotainment touchscreen. It ran on a Google Built-in operating system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard features included a wireless charging pad, a WiFi hotspot, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. The infotainment system was praised for its sharp graphics and quick response. Physical buttons for climate controls allowed for easy adjustments. The Power package added a head-up display and Amazon Alexa voice commands. The Bose audio system lacked punch in the lower registers but offered decent clarity.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue came with an 8-inch touchscreen for basic infotainment features. While small, it was functional, with large icons and quick response. It included phone, radio, media, and phone-projection connections, but lacked navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were available. The digital instrument cluster displayed limited information. The audio system was a simple six-speaker unit, with no premium option available.
The 2026 Buick Enclave received a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS, with top scores in all crashworthiness evaluations. Standard safety features included forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitor, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system. The optional Power package added a digital rearview mirror and GM's SuperCruise, allowing for hands-free highway driving on select roads.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue offered standard safety features such as forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, driver-attention monitor, and rear-occupant warning. Blind-spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert were available on all but the base SE. The Venue received a four-star rating from the NHTSA, with a top "Good" score in the small front overlap test from the IIHS. However, ratings for other tests were unavailable, and its headlights received "Acceptable" or "Marginal" ratings.
