Reviews Summary

The redesigned 2026 Audi A6 marks the ninth generation of midsize luxury sedans from Ingolstadt, Germany. While it shares a name and some tech features with the Audi A6 e-tron introduced for the 2025 model year, the gasoline A6 is an otherwise different vehicle based on the same Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) as the A5 sedan and Q5 crossover. A redesign was certainly needed as most other midsize luxury sedans—specifically the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class—were renewed more recently, and we haven’t had a genuinely new A6 since the 2020 model year.

Verdict: On paper, the A6 looks like more of a premium product than before. But it doesn’t feel that way from behind the wheel, and the tech is a work in progress.

Reviews Summary

It doesn’t have a V8, but the 2026 Dodge Charger does have 550 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque from a turbocharged SIXPACK High Output inline-six engine. All-wheel drive is also standard, and additional drive modes mean smoky burnouts, drifting and donuts remain Charger specialties. It’s offered in two- and four-door styles, and there’s plenty of interior room for adult passengers, making it a uniquely powerful and potentially practical American muscle car for the right buyer.

Verdict: Who needs a Hemi? It’s not likely to have broad appeal as a family car, but the 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack stands out as a truly modern muscle car.

Look and feel

2026 Audi A6

8/10

2026 Dodge Charger

7/10

The 2026 Dodge Charger was a bold and commanding presence on the road, boasting the widest body of any car in the industry. Its dimensions were significantly larger than its predecessor, requiring careful parking, especially for the two-door coupe with its long doors. The gas-powered Charger Scat Pack featured a distinctive grille design reminiscent of the 1960s muscle car era, complete with an illuminated Fratzog logo and blacked-out intakes. The Charger’s sleek fastback body was unadorned, save for the Scat Pack Bee fender badge, and its rear was accentuated by a gloss black spoiler and dual exhaust tips. Inside, the Charger offered a spacious and modern cabin with a large digital touchscreen and unique design elements like the Attitude Adjustment lighting system and a pistol-grip shifter.

The 2026 Audi A6, while not as visually striking as some competitors, presented a handsome and refined appearance. Its design included a lower, more pronounced singleframe grille and fender flares inspired by the Quattro rally car. The A6’s lighting features were a highlight, with pixelated LED headlights and programmable taillights capable of displaying different icons. The A6 was available in Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims, with options like the S Line Black Optic Package and Sport Plus Package enhancing its sporty appeal. Despite its understated design, the A6 offered a sophisticated and composed look, with a focus on subtle elegance rather than flashy aesthetics.

Performance

2026 Audi A6

9/10

2026 Dodge Charger

7/10

The 2026 Dodge Charger offered a range of powertrain options, including both electric and gasoline engines. The electric Charger Daytona R/T delivered 456 horsepower, while the Daytona Scat Pack boasted an impressive 630 hp. The gasoline lineup started with the 420-hp Charger R/T, and the Scat Pack we tested offered 550 hp. The Charger’s turbocharged engine provided strong performance, with a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 177 mph. Standard all-wheel drive and a Launch Control system ensured quick acceleration, while Brembo brakes provided reliable stopping power. The Charger’s suspension system and weight distribution contributed to its agile handling, and its five drive modes allowed for customizable driving experiences.

The 2026 Audi A6 featured a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, producing 362 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard quattro all-wheel drive. The A6’s 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds was competitive, and its handling was enhanced by brake-based torque vectoring and an optional sport rear differential. The Sport Plus Package offered additional performance features, including a lower ride height and rear-axle steering. While the A6 excelled in highway stability, its ride quality suffered with the Sport Plus Package, and the steering system, though precise, felt artificially heavy in Dynamic mode. Overall, the A6 was more suited to highway cruising than aggressive cornering.

Form and function

2026 Dodge Charger

8/10

The 2026 Dodge Charger’s large exterior translated to a spacious interior, accommodating four adults comfortably in both two- and four-door configurations. The coupe’s long doors facilitated rear seat access, though the sedan was more practical for frequent passenger transport. The Charger offered over 39 inches of front headroom and 36.9 inches in the rear. Its interior featured a variety of color options and materials, with a large glass roof enhancing the sense of space. The Charger’s hatchback design provided 22.8 cubic feet of cargo space, expandable to 37.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

The 2026 Audi A6, despite being longer than its predecessor, did not gain additional passenger space. The panoramic glass roof increased front-seat headroom, but rear-seat dimensions remained similar. The A6 offered comparable space to a BMW 5 Series, with standard heated and ventilated front seats and optional massaging sport seats. The trunk provided 13.5 cubic feet of cargo space, with split-folding rear seats for added versatility. While not as spacious as some competitors, the A6’s interior was comfortable and well-appointed for long journeys.

Technology

2026 Dodge Charger

7/10

The 2026 Dodge Charger featured a standard 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, with a larger 16-inch display available on Plus models. A 12.3-inch touchscreen housed the Uconnect 5 infotainment system, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Performance Pages allowed drivers to track metrics like 0-60 times and cornering performance. The Charger’s infotainment controls included small rotary knobs and haptic climate buttons, requiring some acclimation but ultimately user-friendly.

The 2026 Audi A6 introduced the Digital Stage setup, with an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.5-inch touchscreen. An optional 10.9-inch passenger screen complemented the driver-focused layout. The MMI infotainment system, while featuring improved voice recognition and wireless smartphone integration, was criticized for its oversimplified interface and inconvenient pop-up menus. Audi planned a mid-year update to address these issues, adding features like an integrated dashcam and a new steering wheel design. The optional Bang & Olufsen audio system included headrest speakers for navigation prompts.

Safety

2026 Dodge Charger

6/10

The 2026 Dodge Charger came equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including Active Driving Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind-spot Monitoring. The Scat Pack Plus model added Turn Signal Active Blind Spot View and a 360-degree camera system. While crash-test ratings were not available, the Charger’s safety technology was effective, particularly on highways.

The 2026 Audi A6 offered standard driver-assist features such as adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, and blind-spot monitors. Premium Plus and Prestige trims included additional systems like adaptive cruise assist and a 360-degree camera. The A6’s lane-centering feature was less precise, allowing some lane drift, but robust driver monitoring helped mitigate misuse. Crash-test ratings were unavailable at the time of writing.
