2023 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Preview

The 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is a subcompact sedan that has one of the lowest starting prices on the market today. It trades in thrift above all else, with an underpowered (but efficient) engine and a low starting price.

What’s New for the 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage G4

For 2023, the Mirage G4 is largely a carryover. The only major change is that the manual transmission has been dropped from the lineup, leaving the continuously variable transmission (CVT) as the only option.

Design

Trims for the 2023 Mirage G4 are ES, LE, BE, and SE. The ES comes standard with 14-inch steel wheels with plastic covers. The LE adds 15-inch alloy wheels and fog lights. The BE (Black Edition) features black 15-inch alloy wheels, black side mirrors, and a black rear spoiler. The ES features body-colored power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals, as well as LED daytime running lights.

Powertrain

The only engine offered in the 2023 Mirage G4 is a 1.2-liter inline three-cylinder. It produces just 76 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque. That limited power is routed to the front wheels through the CVT. Fuel economy estimates for the Mirage G4 are 35 mpg city, 41 highway, and 37 combined.

Interior

The Mirage G4 provides 12.4 cubic feet of trunk space, and the ES trim comes with a rear-seat pass-through. Standard equipment on the ES trim includes automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, power windows, and manually adjustable front seats. The LE trim makes available two options packages, a Dynamic Appearance Package and a Refined Appearance Package. The BE trim adds unique cabin styling elements, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The range-topping SE trim comes with heated front seats, a push-button start, remote keyless entry, and an armrest for the driver’s seat.

Technology

No matter which trim you select, the 2023 Mirage G4 comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Mirage G4 also comes standard with voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, and a single USB port.

Safety

The 2023 Mirage G4 comes equipped with a limited number of driver-assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, and pedestrian detection. Moving up to the BE trim adds rain-sensing windshield wipers. The SE trim adds lane-departure warning and automatic high beams. The combination of front and rear parking sensors is a standalone option on any trim.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, the 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 has a starting price of $17,245 for an ES trim. The LE starts at $17,845, and the BE starts at $18,445. The SE trim has a starting price of $18,945. The Mitsubishi Mirage is backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
